Hi there Thanks for your comment. I have come across bags with satin linings. These are special edition styles which Chanel sometimes produce on a limited run. Chanel does produce variations of the 2.55 classic bag, up to 6 collections a year, in different fabrics, tweeds, satins, and other woven fabrics. Hope that helps. Regards Winnie

Thank you for the video. It is very helpful. Although I disagree with someone's comment that if they did everything exactly as Chanel would do, it would cost the same. No, not unless the purse is made from solid gold. You are forgetting in addition to material and labor, there is profit margins/ logo fees/ advertising/ transportation and all associated cost that Chanel pay for as a brand. If they sell only for material and labor, they can just go out of business tomorrow. I would venture and say these bags have at least a 50% mark up. Not that is it a bad thing, just that the same bag can definitely be made cheaper by other companies.

Winni, What an interesting and informative video. The depth of your brand knowledge is very broad. Living in NYC, one gets to see many fakes walking around the garment district. Many are purchased by tourists or residents on Canal St in lower Manhattan. If one really wants to get a close look at fakes, that's the best place to visit. Every designer under the sun. What is not placed in plain sight for sale can also been seen in showrooms that buyers are escorted to directly off the street.

Hi The lining colour depends on the year, Chanel switch from black to red and back again! Remember caviar skin leather has a bubbly texture whereas lambskin has a soft buttery feel. This are the differences: My bag does not have a double flap. The quilted CC inside is on the flap and the Chanel stamping is on the inside pocket. It does face the "made in France"inscription. My bag has 2 pockets: one of them has a zipper and, below that one, there is another one but with no zipper (it looks like the pockets that you showed on the video, but it's not divided in 2). The back plate has the flat head screws and it says Chanel Paris, but it's oval. The serial number has 8 digits.

Depends on the year, we've since found out that Chanel switch from red to black. So if everything else looks authentic there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

if its from the Chanel store I have no doubt that it is 100% authentic.. Yes the 'made in' and 'Chanel' sign can be on the same side it was reverted back and forth in the 00's

@meah21 - Hi, it really depends on the previous owner. We only purchase Chanel that have been well looked after. The best advice is to look after your bag, put it inside a dust bag when not in use. Put tissue paper inside the bag to maintain its shape. Kind regards.

I just got a Chanel bag and the stitch looks like 9 stitches per diamond, when you open the flap it says Chanel and made in France are on the same flap so I assume it is the Caviar skin. But you said the Caviar skin has black lining while mine has red lining. Lastly the authenticity card is hologram but has the credit card feel to it. Does this mean mine is real or fake?

All the descriptions match except my Chanel bag has Chanel and in France on same side so I assume it's Caviar version but my lining is red not black. The authenticity card is hologram. Sticker is on bottom left hand side of bag. Stitching looks to be about 8-9 per diamond. Is mine real or fake?
