@gamaxgbg3 жыл бұрын
@@kali4967 Your argument contradicts itself. First you say it has nothing to do with the psyche, then you say most successful people (a very debatable statistics) consult an astrologer. Of course a lot of psychology studies result in bullshit, people treat it as a statistical science just like they treat economics. No doubt both fail miserably, that's why Austrian School of Economics is the only real school of economics. Astrology is as bs as economic calculation in a planned economy. Same principle, just a different scale. And a fallacy of authority is no argument, the truth doesn't care who believes in what. Astrology is so bs that the astros are in very different positions now than they were in the ancient era and astrologers still "study" their old positions. If the position of the astros really matter in a person's life, what's the point of studying a position that doesn't even exist anymore? Even though of course astrology doesn't study the psyche, it says about the psyche, and that's the problem and my reason to say it's bullshit. And if they study the new positions why do all (or at least most) astrologers still talk about only 12 zodiac signs if now there are 13? I don’t really care about meaningless interpersonal relationships. I understand people really well, but I personally dislike most people I come across because they make great efforts to conform to normality even though it negatively affects them mentally. I enjoy solitude, but I also enjoy being in occasional company with people that are either genuine or respectable in some aspect. I’m starting to realize that’s more of a personality trait and not so much of an issue. It’s strange how easily menial problems piss me off, and I have struggled to work in groups because I didn’t care about the task. My personal hell as an “INTJ” (even though we aren’t all the same obviously) is watching people who are in positions of power over me struggle to do menial tasks while also telling me to do things they’re incapable of doing. I have trouble listening to people who are less skilled/ less knowledgeable than me in a certain topic, but I also don’t make great strides in things unless I actually enjoy the topic, so I end up letting other people take leadership roles and regretting it down the line due to their inadequacy. I don’t know much about personality types, but a friend of mine recommended this channel after they told me he thought I was an INTJ. Seems as though he was right, and in all honesty it’s weird to see so many others in the comment sections with similar questions in life. Coming to terms with death and limited time, being opinionated, self objective but not overly critical. These are things that seem to be common among a lot of us and that’s pretty crazy in all honesty.

I think that the moment when you're dancing on a nightclub can be quite introspective. Being surrounded by strobe lights and people that you don't necessarily have to pay attention to, just need to remind yourself that they also don't care about you. This is even more true if you're on certain substances.. It's just you and the music. Mosh pits are quite fun as well. If the nightmare scenario is to interact with other people in a social environment, these are not very good examples imho My personal hell happened when i was a kid and my parents sent me to a summer camp. The idea of other people planning my vacation filled with activities I don't want to do WITH other people was horrible. That lasted about 3 days as I simply refused to do anything. Impulsive in the sense that one can take a risk. As an INTP I also resonated a lot with that, however, too much structure seems to create unnecessary friction. Actually I feel a bit like INTP-INTJ hybrid, in the 16 personalities test my P/J is very balanced, although I know they don't share the cognitive functions. I definitely know that in the core I am a TiNe person, but with age and in my profession (I'm a doctor) you learn and appreciate pragmatism a lot, so no longer I draw that much pleasure from knowing things just to know them; I'm finding more and more joyful to learn things that actually have implication and actually change what I do to the patients. In the college I used to navigate deeply around subjects just because they were interesting (how the hell do sperm find the egg?; how is vision created and processed along neuron networks inside the brain?), but many of them were turned to trivia because they have zero impact on the daily practice. I also used to be very undecisive about things (knew a lot, super able to correct information, but to make choices also seemed very... burdensome, there are so many ways for things to be wrong, mistakenly analyzed or don't go as planned) and now I am getting more and more comfortable in being assertive about actions, rather than only ideas. I also know that INTP's shadow is ENTJ, which share INTJ's cognitive functions, but although I am blunt sometimes, I usually am not bossy; I hate to manage people. I prefer to isolate my work from the ones I don't judge competent enough rather than pressing them to get on track. Anyways, MBTI is a tool, not a box, and insights are always useful even if designed for other types :) love your channel!

Hmm. I feel the reverse as an INTJ, with many INTP-ish traits. I adopted the tendency for frivolous analysis and information seeking out of an admiration for what it can produce: understanding a problem on a deeper level, getting closer to the truth, finding unique routes in doing so, etc. I think it’s a superior mode of being. This “boundless intellectualism”, though there remains an underlying pragmatism in where my analysis will go.

INTJ here and I mosh. Its among the most liberating activities I can think of doing. There is just music and chaos. My mind doesn't need to analyze, categorize, overthink... I just push and shove and the music is too loud to even begin to sit and think. Its honestly a bit of a mental and emotional detox for me where I purge excess through a completely kinesthetic act, not my constantly overthinking brain, for some people that is jogging, or working out or sports etc. But I find this works best for me because of my active investment into the music which is something I am more connected too. I am able to enter the state of flow while moshing, because there is nothing I am focused on besides the act itself, something I find difficult to achieve with meditation.. Its physically exhausting and punishing... but mentally as well as emotionally, nothing is more refreshing as odd as that sounds.

INTP here. I understand how you might relate (perhaps more likely if you're also 9w1). INTx do indeed have some similarities, despite having no functions in common frontstack. They both have weak Fe & Se, notably, and tend to come across rather emotionless and indifferent at times, also tactless, aside from the obvious, being intuitive, thinkers, and introverted. But there are noticeable differences. I, for one, don't plan shit. I don't like planning tomorrow, much less long term future. I'd rather leave my options open and not obligate myself. I don't really have goals unless I'm forced to (interests, yes... goals, no). I'm an _actual_ procrastinator and do my best work last minute, and actually messy & don't care much about the way things look (not in an inferior Se "messy" way lol), unless it's for Fe reasons. I also wouldn't describe myself as passionate, honestly. There are things I care about, principles and people and animals... and there are topics I find fascinating... but I really don't feel passionate about many things. Even people (sorry, not sorry). Even love, for me, is not particularly about passion (in the amourous sense, rather than the lecherous, lustful, libidinous sensory meaning of "passion"). There's something fiery about Fi, regardless of which slot it's in. Raw and real, a totally irrational preference for certain people and things, a subjective bias rationalized post-hoc, a passion that leads to fierce loyalties and retribution. I really don't get that way about many things, if ever. I think INTPs pride themselves on being _dispassionate_ & detatched observers, "free" of bias, yet still curious with childlike wonder. INTJs also come across as detached, yet when you break their shell & earn their trust you'll see that Fi passion for people & things I just don't have. Half the time I really don't know what I "like" or "want." 🤷♀️

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, if you are a 5w6 or 6w5 INTP, that could also partially explain your relating to INTJs specifically. 9w1 (or nines of any type, really) are more likely to relate to other types in general and have trouble discerning their own identity. 5w6 and 9w1 just so happen to be common types for INTPs so I thought it was worth mentioning. 5w4s (the other common enneagram type for INTPs) seem more likely to relate to INFPs than INTJs. Food for thought.

What's your take on why INTJs are often associated with traditional and conservative things, while at the same time they are very non-conformist and often innovative? The evil schemer with a pension for classical music, cats, and being very cultured while at the same time disregarding any social norms is really a persistent trope. I'm an INTJ, a cat person, have a very broad taste in music styles, including some classical pieces, and an interest in history and bygone cultures. Thus, I think that there might be something to it... The non-conformant side and overall low agreeableness definitely allow for pursuing interests that are outdated, or just not mainstream. I also think that NTs are more likely conservative in the sense that they oppose liberal ideas. By that, I mean the warped meaning of the word liberal. Canceling others rather than defending their own beliefs, pulling everyone down to their level rather than trying to succeed as an individual, blaming others for their own shortcomings, etc. are definitely traits NTs find abhorrent. NTs are just too independent and prefer to think for themselves rather than holding back their beliefs in order to please the group. Obviously, this doesn't translate to classic conservative values such as no sex before marriage, etc.
@lovewho2 жыл бұрын
Very interesting question. I think it could relate to their systematic mindset. In that sense they value a certain level of structure and stability. Even when they think the systems of the world need to be torn down, they still think that they need to be rebuilt in a better way and often have a plan for how it's going to look. So they probably don't resonate that much with any political mindset that has an overly chaotic nature to it ~ Nathan
@SlurpeeBoy9999 Жыл бұрын
I don't think the desire for structure and the desire for change are at odds. Indeed, the first desire can lead to the other. If an INTJ sees that a system is not working, he will not uphold it for the sake of a structure which is doomed anyway. On the contrary, he would seek to manage its inevitable downfall, so that a new system can take its place and so that chaos does not reign supreme. A rotten system that is no longer providing the benefits it was built to provide should be swept aside, for the system exists to provide the benefit and nothing more. And from the ashes of the old, a new world can be created. A better world. A saner world.

How I spot an intj - they criticize my code because it 'smells bad'. I take an intuitive approach to programming and thyy want things in a very specific, rigid paradigm.

As an INTJ programmer, during code reviews, I don't approve codes that "look dirty". 😂 Even if it works flawlessly, I want those codes clean.

Years ago I made the test and turned out to be INTJ. Now I got the hint from my therapist I might be autistic. Since diving into it I found out, that there are way too much parallels to be a coincidence. It might not be for All intj, but I suppose the majority. Yet, we are few 😅

I think people mistake intj ability to have the challenging conversations as socially awkward. In my opinion a lot of people tend to pussyfoot around topics and I’m wired to be efficient so having to use more words to accommodate someone’s feelings and mental blockages or inability to self reflect is super challenging for me. I’m all about clear direct communication, very technical and less feelings based.

😂😂😂 I don’t like to be out in the bright sun it’s so true. Give me a cave outside with a tv and cozy bed and I’m stoked. I can look at the outside from the distance
