True! It also seems like a lot of people believe they think for themselves, but they *coincidentally* always seem to arrive at the conclusions they've always been told to believe. 🙄 So even their way of questioning things is shaped by how they've been told to question things, and not original.

INTJs are the type I (ENTP) get on with the best, but their Fi always comes as a surprise when I get peeks at it. I had to partner up with an INTJ at one of those stupid “team building” events and we nailed all the puzzles. It's true that we tend to be around people we have some purpose for, but I see no point in being around people we don't really like or who don't add to our lives in some way. It is a cog thing, and we don't really have the social capacity of personally caring about every single person we meet (speaking for myself here). That doesn't mean treating someone with disrespect or so is ok for anyone, though. However, in my experience, pretending to like/care about someone to get what you want is more a Fe-user thing

Yes we objectify people in a very functional matter and people become thing-like to us. Only problem is, it ends up being evil coz those people don't see themselves or the INTJ as a thing-like to be used for a given function. And no one, even the INTJ, don't want to be just a cog in someone else's wheel, plans or goals. I think INTJs fail to see other human beings as independent human beings. If these human beings dont fit in the INTJs plan, then they are not useful to the INTJ, and are discarded pronto. But, it seems everyone is always of some use to the INTJ. Everybody was created to be used by the INTJ for some purpose. LOL.

+INTJ's usually don't like any kinds descriptions (or rules of any kind as such) because they know that all is relative and depend on contexts, understanding and interpretations (: +They remember and use information that they are actually gathering and analysing in their daily live (I am currently interested in study of X, so I will use information of X as my current preferable thinking and solving algorithm/strategy, I will see the "colors" world more that way-it is both good and bad for them, they are very dynamic thanks to that trait), so it is very important for them to not be interested in any information that they don't like and don't want to use or solve, because they get stuck in their neverending thinking processes and it will slowing down them in their daily life and also life progress and in doing good for this world. Every INTJ is wired differently than another. All of those things mentioned aren't necessarily dark but can have dark repercussions. What most don't realize is that dark repercussions, can have positive outcomes and effects, you can't acknowledge something if you don't feel it, deal with it, and analyze it in it's entirety to include the negative effects it creates. Every choice creates both positive and negative outcomes, and next round of choices can be influenced by the repercussions of the previous choices. Sort of like a waves or layers wrapped around each other. As female I've also noticed that I'm a little bit more wired to human emotion, apathy, and the value of human life. And although I may feel different than other's and look at other's and wonder "Why are you doing this to yourself human?" It's not really put on the person, it's the situations they get themselves into. But really it always comes down to "If you REALLY thought about it a little more..."

As an INTJ I think this was a great video and agree with all of it. Introverted feeling is definitely underestimated in INTJs, even sometimes by INTJs themselves who think they are purely logical and do not acknowledge their own feelings. Fi is what we WANT and value. That is what the all the strategizing is actually focused on. Fi wants something to be a certain way, Ni envisions how it could come to fruition, and Te bends it into a plan using all the tools of logic available. I think, being the extroverted function, and thus having the least depth, Te is fluid and can allow an INTJ to change their arguments, change their stances, change their tactical approach, while underneath it all Fi is a solid unwavering rock of determination.

I'm glad you brought this up. Most people can't understand how an INTJ like me could be a nice person since I mostly enjoy esoteric things like power and control. Yes, I'm a schemer, yes, I'm a manipulator, but I do those things because I'm GOOD at it. Making my family and friends smile gives me power over them. I enjoy this feeling of controlling their lives and making them better. Meanwhile they are lying through their teeth to make others happy. Yeah, no, that's not how goodness works. They would lead everyone off the side of a cliff, smiling all the way, if it guaranteed they got the attention they desired. As for REAL weaknesses, INTJs tend to develop a god complex the more successful they become. INTJ female here. Studying Philosophy and Logic made this WAY worse! I navigate the world with a hyper-awareness of Axioms being the foundation of all knowledge we know today. Further, I tend to reject to previously assigned meaning someone else ascribed to Axioms, which makes anything and everything a free for all. Knowing Axioms are mere assumptions, if need be I will reject very common and popular views. Facts and "Logic" aren't methods to influence or pursued me into believing something since all facts are based in Axioms. This mindset works extremely extremely well in academia (I publish in a lot of journals) and maximizes creativity but it's really difficult to find people who can understand this sort of mindset. There are no facts, just interpretations. When facing people who are heavily reliant on facts, logic, math, sciences, etc... I'm an absolute nightmare since it always comes back to the inability to prove Axioms to be true. Science people tend to be less hostile towards me, but mathematic people absolutely hate me once I mention the need for two Axioms to create a theorem or Steven Hawking spending his whole life trying to disprove one Axiom and failing. I personally like the 100% open mindedness, it definitely keeps me to open to even the seemingly craziest possibilities. It's a fairly "radical" position, and definitely reinforces my own beliefs over all else, but higher levels of morality require placing your views and beliefs above all else. I personally would much rather achieve a higher level of morality than play house with the rest of society stuck at the 4th level of morality. For anyone with a Developmental Psychology or Cognitive Science background, this perspective can be found the 5th and 6th level of morality. Or the Lawrence Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development theory.

In Mathematics if you work with an axiomatic system, such as ZF, you can use forcing to decide whether a statement is decidable or not. It doesn't give you a way to prove or disprove a theorem, but at least you won't spend the rest of your life looking for something that doesn't exist in your given system. If you are into Bayesian decision making, using fuzzy logic you can find some neat ways to create/restrict systems of ethics that spit out your desired results. /female INTJ, researching Maths & Philosophy (mostly non-applied logic)/

@@wantstrawberryfields No doubt! I'm not trying to advocate against mathematics or anything. Nor do I think Axioms are bad by any means. The world would be a nightmare without them haha. I simply just chose the Continential approach to life rather than an Analytic one. Imo Fuzzy and Free logic produce the most interesting results. I'm not too sure if you've ever looked into the values of Hegel's Dialectics, but that shit is super interesting too when looking for "truths". The main hesitation when managing axioms is with fuzzy, is the distinction between logical and illogical axioms. Fuzzy addresses one type of axioms. Also, when managing statement with uncountable nouns [logic (uncountable) vs mathematics (countable)] it gets a bit tricky on a Linguistics level as to whether you (as a countable noun/being) can apply such a decision to an uncountable variable. Obviously nothing is perfect, and logic isn't either (referring to Kierkegaard's Absolute Paradox) but by no means is it a bad thing or anything. When I was younger, I may have had leanings toward progressivism, I have grown older and wiser and now see that this mindset as wrongheaded and likely to, if applied in a political sense, bring about evil in this world. I would like to encourage all INTJ's to consider spiritualism, the possibility of a creator and a grand plan for the universe. I see so many people in today's world who scoff at religion. I have to wonder if the INTJs among these people, with their analytical abilities, have come to discover a certain emptiness in their lives. During the early 1980s, I was in a terrible place in my life. I watched a very late night Christian broadcast and bowed my head and prayed along. Something entered my that was like no other drug that I have ever taken or experimented with. I knew that it was God or one or many of his angels that came to me and spoke into my mind and put into my body such a golden warmth that I laughed and cried at the same time. @@aidsomemore What an interesting and very hard to answer question. It didn't happen at once. No one happening caused me to, "discover", spiritualism. I discovered it over time, with a little help from society. Those of the academic faith would call people like me, simpletons. Yet, these people who worship themselves as if they are god, have yet to produce a solution to all that is bad in this world. The harder they try and the more they use their influence in politics, I cannot help but to see that the progressive, academic mindset only causes more pain and suffering in this world. My god, only wants us, the beings of his own creation, to be free and live free. He does not want us to be bonded to some machine that makes money for the rich and powerful. He does not want us to be enslaved by those who would force us to eat a certain diet, live a regimented life under the control of some slave master who would tell us that what we are being forced to do is only for our own good. My religion tells me that my creator has a rebellious rival. A devil who would have us believe that we, ourselves are God. We are not. To look upon our world and how it is governed by our fellows, tells me all that I need to know as to whether we human beings can perfect ourselves all by ourselves without our almighty god. We can't do this. All attempts at this have only caused pain, suffering, and mass death upon this world. I am Christian. I believe in my almighty God. I believe in his son, Jesus Christ, who was sent to our world to pay for our sins. I also believe in judgment for all who would attempt to enslave us.

My dark side of the INTJ is that when I have a runny nose I always use my tissue 2 to 3 times and I always fold it in half and carefully put it into my pocket instead of crumpling it and pushing into my pocket like a normal person. And I haven't realized that until my boyfriend asked me why am I doing that. I just always assumed that is the only way...
@Desimere
@Desimere 5 жыл бұрын
I have always been a very emotional person and for some reason, people always assume that that means having my emotions control me, but that is not the case. There is this part of me that observes my emotions, but is not affected by them. That is the real me. And there is the alternate self, who experiences these emotions deeply and thoroughly, with spontaneity and everything. Trying to merge these two aspects of myself into one has been one of my goals all my life. The observer/manipulator would have no goals/motivations in life without the feeler and the feeler would have no agency without the other, who even manipulates the feeler with intricate plans to handle emotions in a healthy/optimal way. They work well together now, but there will always be some separation between them. When I was a child, I thought this was because I was a Gemini and the two aspects are what I got from my two parents, but I see that this can be explained by being an INTJ with adhd, which amplifies emotions and therefore forces me to deal with them. And even with how aware i am of my feelings, i can still not express myself right so that other people could actually understand them. Not being able to express myself is the biggest frustration of my life. I don't mean that it's a big frustration, just that coincidentally i don't have much to be frustrated about other than this. My logic tells me that every other person is just as unique as me, they just don't always know it yet as they haven't been forced to explore the depths of their psychology, but my feelings are not so easily convinced by logic and need the constant reminders of delving into other people's minds. What i find strange is that people are so scared of the depths of their own minds. Like people who have never tasted alcohol think they will lose all control when they do, most people act as if unlocking the secrets of their own minds will get out of control and drown them somehow. So yes, I do feel like I stand apart, but I know I don't. :D It's as if I have learned to swim while everyone i know is just tipping their toes into water or practicing, or not telling me how far they are with their swimming lessons :P. Swimming might be a special thing, but it doesn't make me that much different from others. Besides, loneliness is determined by how connected to other people you FEEL, not how connected you are. So focusing on the things that make me more similar to other people rather than on what sets me apart is the only logical thing to do as loneliness is unhealthy. A lot in the video spoke to the childhood version of myself though.

I find your description _very_ interesting! On the surface, it sounds like a metaphor for Te vs Fi, but it actually reminds me very much of the way I used to feel during times in my life when I was very depressed. I distinctly recall that metaphysical identity split as regarding myself as a different version of me. There was the version of me when I was depressed and the version of me when I wasn't. They seemed like 2 distinctly different people and each had a hard time understanding and empathizing with the other. Happy me seemed blissfully ignorant from the other's perspective, and depressed me seemed overly fatalistic and self-sabotaging. Do you think it's possible anything like that has happened with you? You don't sound like a person with DID by first impression (just to rule out possibilities). But the mind employs all manner of interesting coping mechanisms and I could perhaps see someone compartmentalizing their emotion in a similar way as a coping mechanism for extremely stressful situations.

With regards to having a logical side and a feeler side and wanting to merge them. I think this is the INTJ-ESFP duality. At first thought, i didn't think i had any stress in my childhood to warrant that kind of reply, but when i thought about it, i was quite bothered by all the bullying :D I didn't really feel too strongly about it, but that might already be a sign that i was unhealthily suppressing my emotions. SeNtRiCz_DevKep That is a great insight. I thought that my tendency to get "drunk" when going through grief was just my brain's way to preserve the chemical balance, like Ella's "When i get low i get high". But this ESFP idea would explain that and so much more. When i am drunk, i become ESFP, and i start to enjoy the feel of letting down my hair and even hugging people, although my decision-making process remains very similar. Just my "powers" change :D But now the key is that the same happened for example when my friend committed suicide. It didn't really seem like an appropriate reaction, but i can see with your theory that intense feelings could push me over the line to the other side. I will have to see if i can make it happen at will, like you. I didn't think anyone would really read such a "tldr" story. :D I am glad to see you relate to this. If i was drunk, i would now send hugs :D

As an INTJ 5w4, this is brilliantly and accurately worded. You put it in a very succinct and tangible way. I’ve personally described myself as feeling like an alien before, and the bit near the end of things being logical yet having a near irrational attachment to the way they should be was spot on. That and admittedly viewing people as cogs in machines, though it isn’t intentional. It’s more of an instinctual reaction in situations. Seeing things as systematic is what works in my mind. However, that doesn’t take away from their value as people. I’m incredibly loyal to those close to me, and even though I struggle to relate on an emotional level more often than not, their value to me as relationships in my life means I would practically do anything that is within my power to help them if the need arises.

I attended our weekly meetings & it was 1.5 hours of boredom. Upon hearing the issues raised I always had a solution which I kept to myself - not my position to speak. It was room full of ego's with me watching the clock as I multitasked by reading my emails I had printed when I arrived. I recall one crisis meeting after some protesters arrived & I dispersed them by asking them to contact our PR team to answer their questions. The 2IC came up & shook my hand as I never overstepped my authority but rather offer sound advice - as per our corporate directives.

Loved your vid. I'm an INTJ married to an ESTJ (whew). I know he views me as a rebel and iconoclast, which is opposite of the traditionalist ESTJ. Not sure how we managed to stay married 30+ years. Though he is, imo, a sheeple I'm sure he sees me as just wrong in every way socially. I let out my dark, dark side very rarely as it is usually during rage and I say the truth but in a heartless and... ok, cruel, way. While I don't regret telling the truth I do regret the pain I have inflicted. It's like my Te takes over and squashes my Fi. But I am human (contrary to popular belief) and I always try to do better.

So this explains why I always read between the lines and apply the 'First Principle' to everything. I can't explain my thought process I just love to dissect everything and zoom in/out simultaneously. I'm just glad that I already became aware of the tendency of being too idealistic, that's why I always tell people to know when to become idealistic and when to become pragmatic. Thanks to this video I'm understanding more about how my mind works, although it doesn't stop here. Hehe. Being too idealistic will make you lose touch of what/how things actually are while being too pragmatic will make you lose touch of what/how things can be.

About that “alien in a human disguise” bit... I almost never used to feel that weird since I naturally gravitated towards other intuitive types, so communication styles, thinking patterns and all that stuff was similar; I was awkward during my teenage years (who doesn’t), but I didn’t feel that alienated until I started working after graduating college. . . . The office was filled with SENSORS ONLY. It was a nightmare. Never in my life had I felt more incompetent in making my my ideas clear to the receptor, and never in my life had I felt “weird” in that “alien in disguise” kind-of-way.

INTJ here as well. True, this is a good explanation. I have realised my life goal almost from the early childhood. I am not interested in academic success or career. These things are abstract and are not lasting. The Universe and life has many unsolved mysteries, sinister and dark. I want to understand the life, the Universe. I want hidden knowledge. For it is the only power worth achieving.

Very perceptive. As much as INFJs are considered "thinkers" with Ti in the 3rd slot i would consider INTJs also a bit of "feelers" with very balanced Fi. Their Fi motivations are often overlooked. Double deciders are more balanced when it comes to F and T functions.

Rather than having many contingency plans, I (INTJ) usually find myself refining and developing a single plan, idea, theory, whatever that makes the most sense. It can become serious tunnel vision to try and make that thing work. INTJ's struggle with flexibility, but being flexible and open allows you to see more possibilities (within which the actual "best" way resides). Good video thanks!

The more I learn about INTJs the more I resonate with them, even though I type as INFJ. I wonder if being a female INTJ would mistyped at NF due to societal archetypes, and vice versa for men.. male INFJ would mistype as NT. Hmmm....good video. As always. Happiest 2020

@@ChantelStays INFJ males literally always mistype as INTJ... Always... Not the other way around though (INTJ female mistyping INFJ). I don't want to delve too much into the details but it is absolutely ridiculous the extent at which INFJ men mistype INTJ... And it's due to the loads of information on general type descriptions instead of focusing on cognitive function differences, as half of a general type description would overlap between INFJ and INTJ given by the fact that they are literally half identical (Ni dom, Se inferior)... Ridiculous how often I've run into this...
@ChantelStays
@ChantelStays 5 жыл бұрын
@@17x71 I agree...mbti should first be looked at via cognitive functions and how they each operate depending on where they're placed! It's kind of the coolest part, surpassing type "descriptions" and looking deeper into each function. . When I do a straight cognitive test Ni and Ti are my highest with Fe close behind, ironically I score high with Fi and Ne as well. I believe any function can be developed in any type depending on childhood circumstances, societal expectations and self work etc. I dont want to quote anything ...but Erik Thor has done some amazing work showing the different nuances each type can have. I personally am heavy Ni...so if I am truly an INFJ I'd be different than an INFJ who prefers the use of their Fe. I suck at Fe at times and have a tendency to get stuck in cognitive loops. But I grew up in trauma and *feelings* and showing feelings were not allowed/stunted. ......I didnt mean to type this much- I tend to use KZbin as a diary haha. Have a good one!

Until i saw this video i thought: ¿Conspiracy theory? really? being INTJ doesn´t mean that i believe in conspiracies, i don not believe in any conspiracy. But, when you started talking about how INTJ´s tie different events together, i remembered all the times i made a whole story of an incident, conecting lots of things that would be normal by their own, coming to conclusions that would sound st4pid. i think it is because we like to think about one thing so much, from different perspectives, that it would get to a totally unrealistic conclusion, wich in most cases we now it is more likely to be unrealistic, but we would like it to be true, cause it is more of a beautiful and artistic storyline, and to put the pieces together. At least that´s how i see it.

I am very much aware of the contradiction you mentioned at the end. The very thing that gives us immense motivation to go through any difficulty is the one that makes us attached to the project etc. And you must understand this attachment is very different from what usually people think in this scenario. This attachment for me comes from carefully crafting the project, like creating a sculpture from clay, every step and every curve is given a lot of attention to create a final product that is beyond average. The attachment here is more like a care for a proper process not an attachment like a possession. Even if I am not credited for creating that particular thing as much as other normal people would do, the joy of giving the best product and looking at your supervisor's/teacher's face light up in itself is the biggest reward for me. So people also misunderstand my kind of attachment with my work. It is damn frustrating to explain it again and again to avenge people who put substandard work and think that I aspire for the same thing as them. I would also like to add, in this context, INTJ contradiction can be summed up in two words: reason and passion. I would like to know what other INTJs think about all these.

For me it's the complete opposite. I want everyone to know all the great things i did. I even think if someone looked at me for 1 sec that means they think im hot lol. Idk if it's an INTJ thing or it's just me.

INTJs interest me so much, yet scare me in a way. I myself am INFP so I respect the intuition, intellect, and principles but I also relate to the loneliness they can trap themselves in sometimes- however, I’m afraid of the way they can dehumanize others with their logic and might use their intellect in a very cold and calculated way if they are that kind of person. Being driven by morals I relate to especially, though. But seriously, there is something scary about such intellect, almost like it is power in a way...

I'm interested in an INFP male but, it's curious to me that, I don't think this infp uses a moral code, I mean, he responds in attitudes that seems to hurt something inside me (my feelings? ) but I'm so aware I don't feel threatened, but I sense fear from his part. Maybe is what you say here, but I'm not going to hurt him at all. I know I can be intimidating, but why is sometimes he is approaching me yet others running away from me? Yes we can use that power in a bad way but not with infp's you are so cute, and we are not villains either!

O you are so right. I am an INTJ female and rarely come across someone who does such a great job explaining the INTJ. Will you make more videos on this. For instance how during conversations, I am spending so much time trying to analyze the other person so that I can respond well that I get trapped in my head and miss the nanosecond I have to respond in the way that I am supposed to. It's like we have to analyze and decide what a good response is and then respond but there is never really enough time to do this well and it always comes across as stilted. Or how INTJ's are actually way more loyal then people think.

'Secluding yourself to the point of isolation' - that is a dream I do not let myself to pursue too fervently. It is a choice in between what makes me happy and what is "healthy" (according to other people) & yields most results in life. I wonder if the scale of extroversion is simply where your Fe is in your function stack?.. My one is on the level of "pleasant socialisation is when you do something of a clear scope that yields a definite result in a group of people proficient in cooperating". My big leap in starting enjoying some social gatherings was assigning a mental goal to the event as "emotionally connecting with other humans for the sake of nourishing each others inner values and fulfilling mental needs". So far, I guess, it kind of humanises and disguises my robotic nature to a somewhat relatable level.

@@mariobros7834 but INTJs would have to master at least elementary basics of it now or get hard-hit later on in life. My mum's Fe trickster has destroyed what she valued the most. Felt like I was stuck in a group/“tribe” where I couldn’t define myself or change in a positive way for myself. I could feel the hierarchy and my closest friend wanted to be the Alpha of the group which just made me want my own space again. Also socializing wasn’t doing anything for me anymore and was just causing me anxiety because instinctively my whole being was telling me that I shouldn’t be there... I couldn’t ignore it.
