Жыл бұрын

In this video, I cover ways to start living your life. Your children are missing out on you because of your multitasking, mind wandering, and mind chatter. The mindfulness that you are lacking is causing you anxiety and depression. How do you get rid of your anxiety and depression? Anxiety comes from the future and depression comes from the past… You need to start living in the present.
How can you live in the present? Use your senses and be alive right now. Every second you are not living in the moment you are in, you were wasting. You are living in an invisible land. Your Children deserve to be loved. And you cannot fully love them unless you are fully here.
May you seek God, consume His Word, live a life full of prayer and presence, and may you have peace.

Yes! Yes! Yes!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I have gained so much by being present! Many people say “triplets?! I could never!” And I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed every single moment of them. From pregnancy, to NICU, to having them home for now 18 months. I have 100% enjoyed every single moment of all three of them! And I have been able to enjoy my older two and my husband and my home so much more, by just focusing on the present. Giving the future to God, knowing that the past cannot be changed and focusing on the now. Focus on what you have in front of your very eyes. ❤️

I will also say that focusing on gratitude was a huge help in staying in the present. “Lord thank you for thins bread that will nourish my children. For allowing us to have this safe home for our children to grow up in…” etc. being eternally grateful for all that we have because He is the reason it is possible at all.

I am a living testimony of everything you just said…6 years of sorrow after the loss of my first husband and God has just completely healed me! Prayer and seeking God throughout those years was vital to my survival. God is my Rock! As well as just recently learning about staying present through therapy. It too shall pass! Seasons are meant to mold and shape us, teach us, and give us testimonies to help encourage others…just as you are doing and I thank you! And I thank God for your healing and I pray He continues to guide you and uplift you and reveal His word to you! God bless you and your family🙏🏼💗

AMEN!!! I can remember having to remind myself to be present all the time when my son was young. It was not an easy task for sure. Now that he’s grown and moved out, I miss those moments so much. Side note: Something else that helps me not waste my energy (at least on being annoyed or frustrated with loved ones) is to consider how I would react to memories of those moments if I were to lose that loved one. Ex: my husband likes to hang the kitchen towel inside out with the tag exposed, front and center. I am a bit OCD, so it used to drive me crazy. But, if I were to lose him (God forbid), I know that as soon as I walked back into the kitchen and saw that towel hanging there, tag out, I’d be a mess. A little change in perspective can bring on a big change in your heart. Great job on this video girl! Your testimony and advice always touch my heart. ❤ P.S. That last statement, ooooh girl!! Yes!

Thank you so much. Your message again, was so very helpful to me, as was your previous video, on the best curriculum for our children. I agree, as you said that most of us are wasting so much of our lives and time, seeking to find things in the "future", trying to make ourselves happy with the fleeting things of this life, that have truly no substance in eternity. Or we keep revisiting the places of the past, rewinding things, that no longer have a place in our walk. Not knowing that each day, we do this, we are losing time we can' t get back. Especially if we are mom's. What are we planting in our children? Are we planting a "media addicted" adult always grasping for more? Are we showing our children the importance of growth? Are we complacent, and never seeking to improve, or study, to learn skills that can be a blessing for others? Are we always living in a place of discontent and worry? I thank you especially for being able to express a very challenging time you faced with the passing of your sister. I know personally how difficult it is to lose someone you love so dearly, and having to go through that long deep valley of sadness. However, as you said and can guarantee, the Father of Peace, has the power to lift us up out of those tough places. Giving us the strength to grow from the experience, so that we may be able to comfort others, and to really "live" in the now of our own lives. We truly have to remember, this life is our mission ground prior to our entrance into eternity. What matters the most are the fruits we are building in ourselves, and in others, until we face the next aspect of our eternal lives. Will our fruit multiply, and produce sweet peace, and light? Or will it crumble? I pray that mom's all over will begin to have a deep understanding of the importance of their mission in their children's lives, just as you have. Thank you so much again for being bold to speak out on these impactful and life changing truths.

I am the family worry wart. I had anxiety so bad in my teenage years that it would cause panic attacks (stroke symptoms). Now I don't get those anymore but I'm trying to get past social anxiety. I will definitely try to be in the present more because thinking about the future in those moments is what effects me. God has shown me that I have been fearing man, not Him. Pressing into God has been the only thing that has helped me and understanding when the enemy is at work. We have complete victory through Jesus Christ ❤️

Then He brought me to Proverbs 29:25 of how fear of man brings a snare. I just love how He knows our hearts and when I was finally honest with Him, He came to my rescue and showed me how I ought to be living in Him 💕

This is such a wonderful video, and something I've been praying into recently. I can be prone to rushing when I really don't need to be, and the Lord is teaching me to physically slow down my body, then my mind can slow down too. I have also been noticing the birds a lot lately, and how free they are. 19 months ago I gave up my smartphone, and went back to using a very basic phone again. Most people thought/think it's very weird, but as a mother it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I think people use their phone as a "pacifier" to distract them from difficult emotions, rather than just sitting in those emotions and taking them to God. I don't want to look back and regret how I spent my life. Thank you again.

@amylouise6387

@@Mamato3 this has probably been the thing I've found the hardest. Generally, I have enjoyed taking less photos. It was hard at first, but I find I'm a lot more present and in the moment than I used to be. I do still enjoy taking photos though, so will either use my husband's smartphone when he's around, or a camera when he's at work. My mum and mother-in-law enjoy receiving photos, so I usually send them via my husband's WhatsApp to them. So I definitely do rely on my husband's smartphone sometimes!
@Youmayhavepeace
@Youmayhavepeace Жыл бұрын
@@Mamato3 I use my phone for so many things, ditching it is just not something I’ve decided on. I keep considering it because I keep seeing other moms do it But the pictures I take, the ID apps we use on nature walks, the grocery lists, the GPS I think ditching it is a drastic choice for people that don’t have the self-discipline to stay off of it. I don’t mean that in a snarky way 😅😅😅 Like for those that truly catch themselves getting distracted I’d say it’s much more reasonable to delete the apps that are distracting you than to delete the entire phone But we all have different ideas and opinions so who knows I worked on not being on my phone so much and I’ve succeeded without having to ditch my phone And I do still use it all the time; like for the above-mentioned reasons Like music in the car or outside with our blue-tooth speaker To avoid technology isn’t the answer IMO. Technology is only growing more advanced. It’s about using technology wisely. ❤️❤️❤️

sometimes we just want to not have to think AT ALL. Like, can our mind just stop altogether? We need those moments too. We also need to balance this with just having breaks from everything, kids included. Another thing that's hard with motherhood is that you don't want to have to be sad or down, etc around your kids. You feel like you have to be in a good mood, doing well, being happy, excited, etc for them and never down. But I think that's a lit too because what are we teaching our kids about life if we act happy ALL THE TIME. That's not reality. Now there is a difference between feeling a certain way and acting a certain way. I think THAT is the difference.
@Youmayhavepeace
@Youmayhavepeace 5 ай бұрын
I agree. I don’t think it’s healthy for kids to think we ought to be happy all the time. I wonder if I gave that impression here? I am very much sad, tired, frustrated, disappointed, depressed even at times - all in front of my kids. I describe the feeling in my body when I feel different emotions and I talk through these things with the kids so they can recognize these feelings in themselves. The Bible nowhere says that happiness is a baseline, so that’s how we live around here.
@kristinyaekelnegley3978

Thank you so much for your response. I love it! I love that attitude. Especially where you said that nowhere in the Bible does it say that happiness is a baseline. So true! And if we try to be strong through our tough emotions, or try to hide them, that’s not be truthful to them or ourselves. Thank you so much for doing these videos and making me realize that it’s okay for our kids to see our struggles, so long as we handle it in the right way. And even if we don’t (because we are human), we apologize and explain that we were wrong- there’s a lesson in that too. God is so good to take care of us this way. Thank you Jesus!

I guarantee you’re a better mom to your kids than I’d ever be. Good moms are aware of their weaknesses. It’s when moms think they’ve got all the answers that becomes a warning sign. It reminds me of what CS Lewis wrote about good people and bad people, “ When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less. A moderately bad man knows he is not very good: a thoroughly bad man thinks he is all right.”

Here is a very honest question. What if, when I am with my kids, I think a lot about where else I could be and what else I could be doing. I definitely have times when I am present and with them and enjoy it, and I want to be in that moment. But there are lots of times when I am with them, but I cant focus on them because my mind is somewhere else, wanting to be somewhere else. Motherhood is hard because we have so much to do all the time and its hard to shut those thoughts off!
@Youmayhavepeace
@Youmayhavepeace 5 ай бұрын
What an excellent question. And a valid concern. We are responsible for a lot of household chores and have a desire to do things we like. Right now, however, being a mother is our priority. Even if we don’t get a lot of “me time”. Focusing on what we don’t get to do will magnify it. Focusing on what God does and is doing will put things into perspective. I find any time I’m unhappy or restless, it’s because im focusing on me more than I am focusing on God. Who are we keeping the house clean for and for whom are we cooking? The entire reason we are running the household is for our children. They are not interfering with our work, they are included in it. I found that one of my hardest seasons was when they were all so very small. They’re still mostly small and I’m only just now seeing the fruits of such a demanding season. But when I realized that God gave me this role, it is because it is my most important one right now. So I had to pray for a mind shift. Instead of thinking about the children as burdensome or interrupting my duties- I accepted that God was growing me in those times. Growing my patience? Teaching me to serve without resentment? Teaching me to die to myself? So many things. Some mothers play endlessly with their kids. I don’t like to. I play sometimes. But I spend quality time with them in other ways. I found most of my success in maintaining the attitude that I’m doing it FOR them and not doing it AROUND them Was INCLUDING them. So instead of playing cars I would ask if they wanted to play dishes. I’d make an assembly line and we’d slowly unload the dishwasher. Unloading the dishwasher took a lot longer because of that but I was able to spend time with them and complete a chore Teaching them to help, accepting their offers in helping, and training them to do things on their own made that season easier. I made a video about training habits and that has lightened my load quite a lot. Maybe you can see if anything in that video benefits you. It is challenging to give your entire life to others. Especially in times when you don’t feel acknowledged or thanked. Many moms end up feeling drained. I set my own interests aside for more than 2 years. I didn’t buy into the whole, “you need to fill YOUR cup!” Thing Because in that very demanding time, I was left feeling that it was just one more thing on my plate to do. When I accepted that this season wasn’t about me, it became easier. It even became fulfilling by after prayer and clarity as to what my time was for; and it wasn’t for me.
