Start with making sure you have even weight over the board and place your feet where the bolts are. This will help. Too much weight on either the tail or nose will send you flying. Good Luck :)

I started skating last month…I’m a 30yr old man that grew up living a rough life and chose the gangster life…but now I’m calmer and trying to do good things ….I always respected and loved skateboarding culture, since a kid . Here I am now lol ….I can do an Ollie and form a kick flip but can’t land it…but videos like this are real educational..thank u guys ..is $170 a fair price for a Brand new Complete set up Baker skate board?just making sure that I wasn’t played….and is pushing mongo still frowned upon? Smh embarrassing..(Poser)jk …but I’m fixing everything before I’m too dedicated and comfortable with my stance. Thanks homies 💯

I got a question, I started not to long ago but I already feel comfortable riding the board and I want to start learning how to Ollie, I already know the motion on how to do one but it’s the fear of doing the motion that gets me to not do the Ollie, any tips you have for me to overcome my fear? I really wanna try one but I can’t seem to overcome the fear of failing lol
@boogaloo98162 жыл бұрын
Hey man it really depends on what you got but at least from my local shops $170 is a pretty standard mid to upper mid range price for a board, my last was about $185 after tax. Mongo is still a very frowned upon technique in the community for the most part, mainly with younger skaters, but at the end of the day it’s whatever you enjoy doing. While I personally will tell new skaters that pushing regular will eventually benefit you in the long run as your tricks get better and more advanced, you do what you’re comfortable with and everyone’s opinions be damned! As for the guy asking about falling and the Ollie my advice would be to practice in the grass or using something like a hand rail or fence to hold on to. It allows you to Ollie on concrete and practice on the correct surface but also allows you to control yourself more ( obviously ) and is a great way to practice tricks the farther you progress. Inevitably you’re going to fall one day and I totally understand your fear around it, but eventually you get over it and it becomes more manageable. The greatest thing skating will ever teach you is to get back up after you eat shit and get knocked down!
@corvusxephan64842 жыл бұрын
@@boogaloo9816 thank you bro I appreciate that fr 💯 I just bought skate trainers to put on my wheels so the board doesn’t move on concrete so I can practice ollies, yeah your right about the falling bro I’ve mentally accepted falling now so I’m not scared at trying ollies now and now with the skate trainers I’m getting on Thursday it should also be easier since my board won’t move at all while doing them haha thank you for responding!

I left skateboarding for almost 20 years, I'm 32, and I recently got back on it. One thing that I recommend that helped me get back to getting used to it is to skate everywhere you go. You gotta go to work? Skate there. Gotta pick up groceries? Skate there. The more you skate the more familiar you get with the board. Once you finally get confident with your ability to skate then you could start to advance into the next level, and those little pebbles won't harm you anymore. You can roll over them like nothing and even if they do catch you, you won't fall, because you know how to skate now.
