It's insane how your view of yourself changes based on how you treat yourself. Since quarantine started, I'd go days without wearing any makeup. I started not wanting to look in the mirror; my undereye bags weren't covered or cared for, I had a breakout of acne and I didn't know how to deal with it, I was only wearing my pjs(t-shirt and shorts), I wasn't stretching or taking time to care for myself... Then just today, I did my makeup and skincare. I woke up early, dranks lots of water, and stretched. And you know what? I looked at myself in the mirror and I subconsciously thought, 'Wow, I am pretty. I'm really pretty.' Just crazy, huh?

1. Change is necessary (become comfortable with being uncomfortable; do things you’re not used to; recognize things you want to change and work on them; educate yourself) 2. Commit to your appearance (invest in yourself; acknowledge the importance of looking good; when you look good, you feel good) 3. Give yourself the gift of time (create time for you, and only you; going to sleep and waking up early gives you a boost of energy and freshness, give gratitude to God, admire nature, plan out your day) 4. Find a feminine mentor (Find a woman that inspires you and teaches you- doesn’t have to be someone you know; Stop being jealous because someone else’s beauty doesn’t take away from yours; Ask for advice) 5. Positive affirmations (Speak positivity into your life; Your mind believes what you tell it; Stop calling yourself ugly and start calling yourself beautiful; Stop saying you’re not good enough and tell yourself that you are enough)

I got dressed during quarantine. No sweats, instead jeans, blouses, dresses and casual, but appropriate pants. I did my every day routine, just as I would if I was headed to school. I felt great about myself and I got things done. Getting into this femininity journey I realized how important clothing actually is. I used to wear oversized hoodies while I had these beautiful pieces of clothing just collecting dust in my closet. It was as if I didn’t think of myself as worthy to use them. I gave probably half of my hoodies away and hid the other ones so I didn’t even have the option to choose them. Then I started wearing blouses and getting used to dress up, haven’t worn sweats since🥰 You are so inspiring and helpful❤️

Im no alcoholic but I just notice I wasn't who I really wanted to be after drinking that wine and I just want to be the best me at all times! It dries your skin, it kills brain cells and also is a depressant. Damn have I been doing this shit alll wrong. I’m only 20 so all I got is time lol but wow, I’m an attractive woman who dresses up, does my makeup all of that but I always wondered why I was either 1) attracting the wrong men (now realizing they were very feminine) or 2) attracting the right men at first but than it not turning into anything serious. I’m very very independent, grew up without a dad. Had the “I don’t need no man” mentality and have just always put up this guard but wow can I just look back at multiple moments where I completely fucked up lol. From opening the door before he does, trying to impress, seeming/acting more like a “bro” than a date, idk just sooo many things. I felt like my appearance was already girly and attractive that my personality almost balanced me out but no. I can be myself still and exude my leader- like self without having to be this masculine presence. I’m learning to let a man be a man! I was so used to declining or not letting a man help me or do something for me because I feel like I can do it myself but no! Let emmmm, I am a woman and I am a receiver. Thanks girl learning a lot !!!

It is worse when your father is in your life but he acts like he isn't there. I ended up being the polar opposite where I was too vulnerable for people and men would take advantage of that. Then, once I constantly got hurt, I became more masculine. It sucks to know how the world is but this is why people like Dr. Michelle are here to educate us about it. I became more feminine through quarantine and this will continue on after that.

Oh, my goodness ... I absolutely love how you explain this subject of femininity. During my break-up and later divorce, my feminity was under extreme fire-everything from my head to my toes(was under attack). I struggled to embrace my feminity since it was such a thing of scorn during my final years of marriage. I spent many years doing everything I could to wash out or suppress my femininity. I let myself go so far that I started growing a small mustache and beard( this is how deeply profound the pain went). After more than 7 years, my now boyfriend found me, and God (still) only knows why such a man would approach, let alone take me. In the beginning stages, I did everything in my power to buck against him and his masculine energy. Just recently, we started practicing the art of sexual healing, and low and beheld, I'm beginning to release my anger and pain and losing the power struggle. Now, The desire for feminity and my feminine self is starting to stir-up within ...

I will say, putting an effort into myself ever day has really transformed my confidence! Near the start of the pandemic I got rid of everything that was unflattering (wrong color, masculine, bad quality) and that forced me to only wear things I liked. Eventually I bought new clothes but only stuck to styles and colors that flatter my body and skin tone. I make an effort every morning to look like my best self, and I cannot tell you how many compliments I get on a daily basis. My friend even told me she admired my feminine energy and that was the biggest compliment ever. But most importantly, it completely transformed my confidence because I am proud of the person I present to the world. Looks are not a trivial thing, it’s very important regardless of your sex.

I have recently got more into makeup but I still like to keep it natural looking and changed my whole wardrobe around with dresses and removing certain things out my life to become an even better version of myself and preserving myself all around . I’ve also been doing more affirmations. Thank you for the video 💕

Thank you for sharing this video. Just last month I came to a realization about my masculine femininity. I grew up raising my siblings, taking care of my dad’s health & practically raised myself at the age of 12 or younger. I also grew up in a household where I was raised by a single father. It wasn’t recently until I got into a healthy relationship where I knew I needed to change. I knew I wanted to be in touch with my feminine side and I have no clue how to exactly step into that but I’m thankful I came across your channel

Your advice is so much appreciated. And it's true about re-creating our thoughts especially as black women when in our younger years someone who should've known better and done better made us feel as though we aren't beautiful enough and that has carried over into adulthood. We have to think highly of ourselves because God made us "fearfully and wonderfully" and that's what I'm wearing from my head to my toes this year.❣

Thank youu sooo much for sharing!!! I truly appreciate it ! I've been in a relationship w my children's father for 12 years now..for the first 5years , I was sooo feminine, happy, and secure !!! As time went on our relationship became such a roller-coaster, now I'm so insecure and it's very hard for me to step back into my feminine self around him! And it's so crazy because at the same time , he's the one telling me "I need to look up how to be feminine "which lead me on this journey 🤷🏾‍♀️ if I'm making any sense...but I'm ready to feel better again and do better !! So I'm going to take heed to every single piece of advice youu offered! Thank youu sis for sharing w Us Ladiess ! 🤗💖🌷

Wow, what you say is so true. I guess sometimes we just assume that either you are feminine or not, and we forget that it is all a matter of commitment. Some girls were fortunate enough to have it taught at an early stage that it becomes natural to them, others like me we have to keep working at it until it becomes part of our lives. I guess I never looked at feminity as something that was taught but rather as something that either you have it or you don't. A crucial point for me was the beginning of the Quarentine, I decided that this was my time, now that I was at home I could do all the things I always complained I did not have the time to do. Taking better care of Hair, Skin, Health, Body and Mind. But through my constant searches on KZbin for new tips the topic of Feminity contantly came up. I am just glad to find such good content on the topic. I will be 35 in December, and I want to go through this journey for me and for my two litle girls as well. Thank you .❤

hey Dr Michelle. I wanna personally thank you, I don't even remember how to be the way I was before I started following your channel. I had to come to YT and leave a comment BECAUSE I listened to the podcast. #3 and trust vs mistrust. I learned this while in nursing school and it’s something that has always stuck with me and how I raise my children. I always tell my babies how SMART, FUNNY, and beautiful they are! I never heard that as a child, always being told I’m ugly and how I won’t amount to anything. It’s so sad. I’ve always self sabotaged myself because I thought I was unworthy of love or affection.

I look to you and my mom forsure. She is VERY feminine. She would always get me to want to wear things growing up but I was such a tomboy.. well I liked at most slacks and a dress shirt but hated dresses and skirts loll She would always paint me and my sister's nails growing up and keep us put together ALWAYS. Even now as an adult she still gets me to try or wear things and I'm giving in a little over time because I want to change. It's a process. This was a great video once again sis!! Bravo!!☺❤❤

This is one of favorite self-development KZbin channels. You are a blessing and thank you for reminding me we live in a society where we need to remember who we are and not be drawn to someone else's lives (if they do not align with our believes)
