It’s a poorly controlled factory. How could they let visitors like you touch items placed in cases unsupervised. You’re messing things up and potentially contaminating the process.

The sheer volume of these watches being made indicates a HUGE market for these knock-off's...The other thing is just how much goes into the production process of these watches...You would think quality is not high on the quality control chart but damn, these sure look like fine pieces to the average Joe such as myself...I also believe that for those like myself who can't afford a high end watch but who also don't want to sport a Timex, this isn't a bad way to go...Hell even if I had a so called "tribute" watch and somebody was to notice or ask me about it's legitimacy I would tell then exactly what it is, for me it's one of style first and price...But then again most of my friends wear Timex, Armatron or G-Shocks anyway so...

I have a theory that the majority of the people buying watches have no Idea about watches they just want something that looks nice. That's why you can have brands like mvmt and DW and make millions.

Not really, there are some really good Chinese watches right now and actually perfectly engineered with much better value, and don't forget history of Swiss watches start of from trash watch to be one of the highest valued watches

@@wb3213 Absolutely true. There are many people that don't care about horology at all. They just see ads on Facebook or Instagram and think "hey that looks cool" and buy them without knowing anything about where it's from or how incredibly marked up the prices are on these Chinese wholesale watches. It's a shame really. But at the same time, the big well established brands like Seiko and others really need to step up their marketing to appeal to people in the same way that MVMT and DW do.

On something unique like an Mb&F or Jacob astronomical I can see the value but the gap between Chinese clones and authentic is so close on some models they fool experts. $1000 or $15000 just to utter the words "mine is real, that for $14000 is what your getting......just my two cents.

I actually fix up these shitty miyota, sunon quartz watches i get out of flea markets. The durability of the dials is pretty good. Issue tends to be alignment.

I've not seen 1 quality watch there. Working conditions are shocking from a western perspective. Low light qc area, that promises qc problems. I feel sorry for the people working there.
