Guilty plea time: I'm a school counselor, and I TOTALLY stole this to teach to my 3rd and 5th graders about problem solving. They loved it, I gave you credit, I directed them to your website and KZbin channel. I’m cuddled up in my blanket alone in my room and on my bed, I am watching this on my tv in the corner of my room, my hairs wet from the shower, I’m in a comfy black flannel and black leggings, I’m in my grandmas house. My grandma and my mom don’t get along. My grandma is abusive and mentally draining. I need to keep a positive mind set cause lately I feel like I’d been falling apart, when I’m with my mom sometimes I have to act like I’m a 44 year old, taking care of my grandpa who is 94 and my sister who is 7. I am 13. Yesterday I was left in a motel room with my sister and grandpa, it was 11:45 almost time for check out and I had no idea where my mother was, there’s a lot more to the story but I rather not go there. I’ve just been so down and sad and confused, even mad at myself for not being able to get a job, a house, money, but then I realize that I’m 13.. and it really drives me up the wall. This video is something I looked up because of all this and more, depression has been peeking into my life and banging on my door. But this video made me have a bigger output on things, I don’t really know how to explain it but thank you.

Peace Pill, you are dealing with things that most 13 year olds don't know anything about. I applaud your efforts for trying to stay positive and you are way ahead of the game in realizing that you have control over how you act. You are remarkable.

Wow, to be able to articulate the issues you are dealing with so well, is impressive at your age. I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. I had a rough childhood too, it's scary having no control over a situation. I hope you are able to find peace. You seem like an intelligent girl, keep your head up and I'm sure you will do great things in life.

This makes so much sense. I came from a tumultuous upbringing with lots and I mean LOTS of trauma including watching my brother die in our home in front my very eyes. And that’s only a tiny portion of my upbringing. Spoiler alert it didn’t get much better after that. Not until I was an adult did things start getting better for me. One of the things I struggled with was relating to others. Because I had been through so much, I really struggled to develop empathy for my friends who were upset over things that seemed to me as trivial as a hangnail. I am so thankful for every experience I’ve had in life because it has caused me to remain acutely aware of the fact that things could always be so much worse than they are now. Boom. Instant gratitude! Thank you God for every trial you have delivered me through!

Really important video. I was having a difficult time a while back, so I tried the "three things to be grateful for" for a few days - and it really helped me re-evaluate things. I find I sometimes need time to absorb something (eg work changes, family issues/behaviour etc) - and I _park_ or put off reacting to it if I can. Then I calm down a bit and re-assess. Really thought-provoking - thanks, Dr Paul.

There is something ever so fascinating with a positive mindset. I can ramble on for hours down the streams of philosophy, science and metaphysics, but ultimately I think positive thinking and being a positive individual, is a magnificent state worth trying to obtain and maintain! Allow me to brief: Over the aeons of our existence our world has gone through time. The process of being resulting in the interaction positive and negative energy. To give some insight to my thoughts: There is a duality that I wish to one day frame, the YING and YANG of existence. For now let's say there are 2 energies: POSITIVE and NEGATIVE. Like the AMPLITUDE and TROUGH in the ether. For some unknown reason, they are equal in nature in a sense it brings upon the balance we know as existence. Positivity; for some reason reigns greater. It is the preferred energy state. Our universe is moving toward something. Toward what though? I have no idea, but everything to my existence shows me it, we and everything is moving toward and if you help existence move toward by being positive, (POSITIVE) you will be rewarded by its mechanics that made you and I a reality. This ultimately is happiness which is a state of energy equilibrium. The somewhat resonance of the positive(out) and negative(in) force. Master energy, master existence... 369

The more I listen, the more I see the 'psychology' of the "Word of God" explained in psychological way. "Faith in God IS the SUBSTANCE of things not seen(yet)... but believing n declaring with faith, it will 'materialise' in good time (in God's time). No matter how we feel, what we say/speak will affect what we see n do N then affect how we feel. Way back, I think in the late 90s, I was watching Donald Trump on 'The Apprentice' n U thought to myself,"If all these rich people can do what they want, I will ALSO have the money to take very good care of my family,ie after quitting my teaching job to take care of 4kids n pledging my savings on a church-building fund, I quietly n resolutely believed n declared that I have ALL things that pertain to life N godliness.N I do have! More than 15 yrs on, I have a home, I stay in my own house, all 4 of my children went thru college education n now have gd jobs, N I'm still teaching (very small scale) n enjoying my less hectic life doing what I like-baking😄

That thing happened to me..once i came back home , found my mom crying badly like if someone has passed away...i was very very frightened to overcome what was coming next ..my mom said my grandpa passed away..i felt a big big relief cause i was guessing it was my dad..i felt very guilty about feeling that relief

It is normal. The loss of someone in our own home would be more difficult to handle that someone that we don't have daily contact with.
