*Great for a family of 2 or 3. It cooks quinoa, white, jasmine **MyBest.Kitchen** and brown rice really well. Easy to clean and store because of the size. We haven't used the steamer part of it yet.*

I use this item at least 1-2x a week kzbin.infoUgkxQJTPaJo-WI_mBKJOtoUVgCf0fPy2Wh90 Everything except the base is dishwasher safe, which makes for easy clean-up. If it finishes cooking the rice before you're ready to serve it, I recommend tossing in a small amount of water (especially if you're cooking the least amount possible) to prevent the rice at the bottom from drying out. The vegetable steamer feels a bit like a hit or miss with cooking times, and sometimes the color from the vegetables leaks down onto the rice. So, I prefer to steam my vegetables separately. Overall, great item for the cost. I've been using mine for over 8 months and am VERY happy with it!

I steamed peeled & sliced chayote, and used 2 regular cups of water. That wasn’t enough water because it boiled dry. The next time I steamed them, I steamed them on top of my cooking rice, which cooks in the same amount of time that the chayote needs to steam.

Where in the world are you coming up with the cooking times for veggies?? I have the manual and also downloaded it to verify the cooking times. i.e you said: Asparagus - 20 minutes the manual 9-11 min Broccoli - 15 minutes the manual 6-8 min Cabbage - 25 minutes the manual 5-7 min Spinach - 20 minutes WOW 20 minutes the manual 2-4 min. I was doing 10 min and it came out okay but shrunk the heck out of the 1/2# pack of spinach. Are these times for Frozen Veggies?
