man, this requires a lot of practice and timing, reading, and muscle memory. Footwork and balance is key.
@loverofhumanity5 ай бұрын
I agree. I love these movies and the details are so incredibly when you hear him explain it, but this is really tough to master as an adult. It's one thing to do it around cones which is already tough, but to do it in a real intense game (not pick-up) is insanely difficult. The one good thing is most of his moves build on one another. I think the best thing you could do is just master 2-3 of his moves but get them down to muscle memory and then counters. Most of basketball in game is gonna be shot off the catch or just simple 1-2 pull up anyway, so you will go a lot farther by just mastering 2-3 moves compared to trying to learn everything which is insanely difficult if you're already old.

I honestly think Max is just lacking mobility and flexibility in his hips and hip flexors. It's causing him to lean too much. If you have stiff hips they will pull you down at the posterior chain especially when extending the legs forwards or backwards w/ each stride. Loosen the hips, you solve the problem and habit of leaning forward too much.
@badsnowman2 жыл бұрын
yeah, the first was such a simple move and he was either losing his handle or losing balance after the cross over, should have been a lot easier, it's such a basic between the legs dribble that probably anyone in college can do it
@johnwall39762 жыл бұрын
May someone help me on how to get rid of stiff hips please? Thank you
@Allegro_Giusto2 жыл бұрын
@@johnwall3976 Search for hip flexor stretches. There’s a wide range of help videos on them. It can be common with people and then not realise. If you stand side on, your butt and lower back maybe too arched, due to either/or/mix of bad posture, weak upper glutes and weak lower abdominals also. It causes tight hip flexors. Good thing is it’s easily fix. It’s not a case of strengthening the flexors first, because if you do that without releasing the tightness, you will still have a tilted ‘hip’. Your lower belly around the bladder area will be tilted more forward also also. Some of the exercises it gives help you increase the reliance on the upper glutes and lower abdomen, so it should help all at once. You ,can do them up to 3 times a day of you wish unlike strength training, or a serious condition, you can balance it out better.

nah I personally like it, he's going game speed and I think you get better faster that way tbh especially since his handles are sharp enough. I think stephania's technique also doesn't really translate that well to game time, she needs to use more steps in between dribbles and needs to be tighter with the ball. love seeing people put in the work tho.

My observation is that the chick couldn’t shoot off the crossover she had to take and extra gather dribble which would give the defender too much recovery time. For that double cross hesi to be effective, you have to shoot it immediately after the crossover.
@Lewis.Alcindor Жыл бұрын
I think she might have been afraid of looking bad on camera, and she was getting too much encouragement from the annoying cameraman for making her shots (even if her form was wrong). Coach Phil should have corrected her just as he corrected Max, so he's also at fault here. I do like that Max wasn't afraid of admitting that he was doing something wrong and listening to Coach Phil, even if he didn't look good all the time. That's the trait that's needed for anyone to improve themselves.

Handy- Telling players to wait for the apex of their jump is futile - no one can consistently time the top - the correct thought for players is to release the ball on the way up - this what all great shooters do - that allows the legs to provide the 75% of power needed and it creates a smooth easy shot
