Realize there are no others. We are all connected and can only be separated by mental constructs and labels. Then it becomes a collaboration of energy versus a comparison. Great video Leo.

Well.. on the physical level we actually are. Atoms next to other atoms that have just different combinations that create "separate" entities. For example, the human body is whole.. but on a smaller scale.. it is an ecosystem of different bacteria, organs, fungus etc etc.

Re frames suggested 1. Self worth does not exist - No amount of accomplishments ever gives you worth. Sit down and think from where the worth comes from...things don't have worth 2.Human beings are too complex to compare...Apple vs Orange 3.Competition is stupid - Matured adult is creator 4.Yes I have handicaps just like everyone else....accept natural strengths and weaknesses 5.Being normal is overrated - accept you eccentricities 6.I'm too busy loving myself - take ownership of your life 7.I love to see people succeed....

hi an eighth grader here! im actually 15 but that doesnt really matter. i didnt go to school for a year and i changed three countries in 3 years. i came to the us a few months ago and started going to school right after, with my self-taught english. now im in second place in my grade but even though the top kid had taken our currenr classes last year, i can’t stop comparing myself to him. i just discovered this channel and many of this channels videos already have a place in my watch later list. i know that most of the middle schoolers are too immature or impatient for this but please remember that there are some exceptions in everything

Really most ppl are losers. Not in the sense that I'm shaming or saying I am any better. But few ppl live up to their true potential, or perhaps even few are truly happy. In that sense we are all failures. But to label failure or loser is subjective, it's comparing and it's illusionary. It really does not matter. But for the sake of relative realities, I've noticed the most judgemental, shaming, most assigning ppl, argumentative, need to win, subjective ppl in life that are least understanding, practical and loving ppl are the most unhappy. The ones to first throw stones and tell u how ur a failure r the biggest failures. The hurt, hurt others. U must have graditude for everything. Even failures because they teach. Even rude nasty ppl, they teach.

Some ppl chase money so much it loses all meaning. No matter how much they earn it will never be enough. Yet some ppl are penniless and find value in little things. Success is not how much u get, it's how much wht u get profoundly affects u. To be numb because u seek too much is a sad position to be in.

If you are completely aware of your own unique individuality, it becomes the most honorable value that you have. In comparing yourself to others, it is easy to celebrate someone else's beauty, success and talent, without devaluating your own if you are aware of your individuality - or celebrate your own beauty, succes and talent, without devaluating the other. Individuality is unique, and unique is not competitive, dependend nor comparable. So, comparing yourself is not inherently bad. In fact, it is only natural and it serves many obvious purposes. It is how you value yourself within a comparison that makes all the difference.
@flyingsoul7147
@flyingsoul7147 6 жыл бұрын
Donna Roselyn well said. I agree with you. We are born to compare with others. Its how you take into perspective that matters. If comparing yourself to others affects your mind then you are probably devaluing yourself.

I have to disagree with you, Donna. There is a fine, subtle difference between comparing yourself to others and observing their qualities, successes, etc. and so discovering whether it is something you would be able or want to develop within yourself. Leo makes this distinction very clearly. In this way you can see others and yourself as extensions of consciousness, all creating at their own rate and ability. This distinction has been very important for me and my growth, and I find I can truly rejoice in the success etc. of others. Namaste🙏❤️

Awesome vidéo, thanks you a lot Leo ! My notes of the video : 7 reframes : 1. No amount of accomplishement gives you worth ! ( spiritual insight) 2. Human-being are too complex to compare. Differentes experiences, environnement, personnality, ressources, focus . Somme people want work more in spiritual and no money, some will focus on career and neglate health and relationship, some will focus on relationship and neglate career, … We see only the surface on people, the emmerged piece of the ice-berg. So 3. Competition is stupide ! Be a creator … Focus on you, your own work, your purpose and value. 4. Yes I have handicaps ! Weakness… Reframe them positively and focus on your strenght ! Let go … 5. Being normal is overrated ! The average person is mediocre…. The goal is to be yourself ! The actualization process can be defined as the gradual ability to be ourself, to express our personnality. 6. I am too busy loving myself to having time to compare myself to others 7. I love to see people succeed ! ( Abundance mindset vs scarcity mindset) Success of others are like a menu that you can take and add what they have to your vision. Divorce the quality of the personne ! 8.Being a creator open an infinite ressources and possibilities… ideas are infinite ! … The only useful and positif comparaison is to see what is possible and expand your vision and how much you can have, transform and get of life …

35:25 to 38:24 that's the healthiest, best attitude. Very good explaination. Such truth. Amazing. What you think is what you become. Think positive and center your life around these positive thoughts, and happiness will come to you. It's just meant to happen that way. Negativity will attract negativity, and likewise positive thoughts will attract positive things. It's all about the mindset.

I came to realize that: 1. What scares me, I must face head on. 2. What I dread doing, I must do that first. What I dislike, I must learn to appreciate. 3. What I love, I must be indifferent towards it. 4. What I am, I must improve. 5. Who I am, I must find out more. 6. What I do, I must do better. 7. What I desire, I must be focused and work towards it religiously. 8. What I need to do, is never give up!

I've been having issues with myself and my negative, toxic outlook for years. I was first put in a youth psych ward when I was 16, and it seemed as though after every 'breakthrough' I quickly devolved into my previously neurotic state. I'm 25 now, and it had only gotten worse. i had literally not left my house in a year, never walked out of the front door once. honestly, finding your videos was the best thing that has happened to me in this regard. your videos have made breakthroughs in a matter of months, versus the years of work I've put in via other avenues. thank you, leo. thank you with every bit of me. I left my house a few days ago, and I feel alive again. looking forward to this path of self actualization and owning my life.

Great. I've suffered with 'neurotic comparison' my whole life. I have a friend i used to call in tears on a regular basis when i was younger and she would pick up the phone, hear my tears and ask me "are you comparing yourself to others or projecting into the future?". And while I've discovered some of your reframes for myself over the years, casually and inconsistently, in listening to this talk for the second time now, it's really sticking with me and making a difference. Thank you. I'll be listening again. And to more of your stuff.

I'm an athlete, and I work hard to improve my skills. so no matter how good I'll be or how much effort I will put into it- it doesn't make me worth anymore than anyone else (if at all). then why am I participating in competitions? why do I get a medal? it's wrong because why do I get something that someone else doesn't? I'm not worth anything. i don't run after the titles, I'm not hungry for success. but I have experienced the fear of being knocked off of number one. so how should I go about this? put away my medals and trophies? stop competing? stop training altogether? I love the sport and enjoy making new elements and skills within the sport. love the feeling I get when I try new things and be creative. I enjoy the challenge whether or not I succeed to overcome them or not.

+76h21 I totally agree! It is the mind that has given us all that we see which is artificial and abstract. Yes, the esthetics have played a role in the perpetuation of the human species. However, it is the mind of the people past that have given the opportunity for the perpetuation of the species.

in the beginning I was following this, but towards the end I lost you. you say that there's not value to any object, just what we place on it, but then at the same time you say you study remarkable human beings and look up to them. if everything is worthless, meaningless, then why are you placing meaning on certain characteristics rather than others? what's the point of self development ?
@Scarface1337_
@Scarface1337_ 8 жыл бұрын
To use the mindsets that help you and drop the ones that don't. If you study remarkable people you'll pick up great mindsets, and live an awesome life. It's still all meaningless though, your ego doesn't want to accept that. It wants to feel pride and superiority.

Meaning works in a practical sense. You want to be happy for example, but this happiness only has meaning in a practical sense. It makes u feel good. But to the cosmos, when u die, it will not matter. To whomever cares if ur happy, when they die then literally no one and nothing will care if u were happy or not. So his lessons apply to the practicality of how u want to live, but it doesn't matter at all fundamentally. But what brings us most happiness is presence. Even some ppl find pleasure from pain so I thoroughly believe presence bring pleasure. It's that most ppl lose presence when they experience pain. They try to run from it mentally, and it's quite natural it actually takes a lot of training to for example stab urself in the foot and give total intentional focus to it. But in a practical sense there's not really a reason to intentionally hurt urself but life wears on us, there's all sorts of aches and pains we do our best to ignore. So it's all about what's practical. But u actually heal when u focus on those pains.

Eternal Gratitude Leo,’To have Profound love for your Life ‘has got to be one of the most inspiring sentences i’ve heard this year.In our Technological age We have forgotten the Internals are sooooo much more than the Externals. The World needs now more than ever before people that are Alive- So ask yourself what- makes me come ALIVE? and then go out into the world and DO IT. •You can rise up from anything •You can completely recreate yourself •Nothing is permanent you are not stuck •You have choices, you can think new thoughts, plan new plans and dream new dreams. •You can learn something new •You can create new habits •••• All That matters is you decide today and never look back!!! PEEEEACE God bless you LEO🤩

You've had videos on humor and confidence. Is there a way you could make a video on detachment? Detachment from outcome or desire, or something like that. I know that it has something to do with being grounded in your life purpose, but I'm still working on your course for that...perhaps I need to double my efforts towards that. I mean I hear that I should be detached. I try, but if I go out and for instance, don't get the social interaction that I expect, I get attached to it and it taps directly into the pain-body. I can see it, but nothing I can do about it except go through it and ruin my time where I should be having fun in my free time or enjoying my job (or at least trying to enjoy it).

+shitmandood | It feels like you're talking about enlightenment. To get detached from the world you must meditate on the subjectively feeling of ''I''. Then all your desires and thoughts will start to fade, and finally the whole world will disappear.

Shootman999 I meditate daily and yet I still can't detach in social interactions with women, especially if they push my buttons. For instance, if I like this waitress at a bar and I go to the bar because I want to see her. She built me up with a lot of flirting and now she's tearing me down again, likely because I'm building attachment. If I go there & don't get the interaction that my mind's scenarios have been running all week, when it shouldn't have been doing that in the first place, I'll feel disappointment and burned, when I shouldn't be feeling anything at all. It shouldn't change my mood, but it does anyway. I'm trying different coping mechanisms but I'm still struggling to get it right. The only thing I can think of is to avoid the subject that is causing my attachment until the emotion is purged...but that can take 3 weeks before I go back to not feeling anything at all for the subject. Once the emotion is purged, I can go back to that bar, but if I go back before the purge, all of that attachment & neediness is going to resurface & cause me to attach to an outcome again. It's very frustrating to be caught in this cycle.
