Been trying this on and off for a while with your video and others, my first set of skates are 2nd hand, K2 Trio 100s, and is 270mm a long wheel base for beginners 🤷♂️ I want to blame the wheels or the fact its not a hard boot but have a feeling its more of a stance form or mental block for me. Need to keep my skates closer around the turn and really stay on the wheel edges. Thanks for the tip with using cones, i'll keep at it for you, Beard!

@@russl7085 you definitely got this! Sometimes it’s the surface you’re practicing on as well! If you can find a smooth surface like in a skatepark it will be easier for you to

thanks for the tip. Here from shorts video. literally at 1 am after practising in a parking lot for like 2 hours. I hurt my hip bone because I kept falling. Will try to put my weight on the front leg next time as you suggested.. will that be innner or outer leg?
@rollerbearding5 ай бұрын
@@shifuugincii you’re welcome!! Ah be careful and make sure to rest up if you get hurt! You don’t want to seriously injure yourself 🙏🏽 the outer leg but try to keep your head over your skates and bend your knees, it will naturally make your more balance and keep your weight slightly forward.. you also don’t want to be too much in front or you will fall forward

@@rollerbearding im on the healing now. i rested a bit. feeling good. I always wear protection but I've now also invested in crash pants. they're coming soon. can't wait to go practise tonight. I need to master an emergency stop because I live in quite a hilly area.

what about wheel hardness? if you have soft wheels then power slides are way more difficult or even impossible

So if I've understood correctly, the "power stop" is just turning into a sharp turn as if to make a U-turn? Or is it something else ? (Bc I still can’t picture the power stop in my head)
@rollerbearding7 ай бұрын
Yes by adding a heel push you create the slide motion and it will make you stop 🙌🏽

Yeah, guess what. This is a parallel slide. It’s. A type of power stop. Get over yourself.
