Thank you, Hazel. Straightening wire has always been a little daunting, but you have, thankfully, taken the mystery out. 💜🖒

Very nice. I have some Full Hard 22 gauge steel wire I need to straighten for a model bridge in HO scale which I am scratch building. I need to simulate iron tension rods and they need to be perfectly straight. Softer wire bends to easily when I thread the wire into the small openings on the bridge, so hoping the harder wire will hold it's shape after I uncoil and straighten it. Thanks. Phil

Thank you so much! I've always known how to smooth a wire, but could never get my wire to be perfectly straight. I can't believe it was so easy or that I didn't figure that out sooner. lol

I often need to straighten solid copper wire to make a buss bar to join a batch ofJack sockets mounted on a panel usually for the ground connection, I do it with my thumb and 1st finger, I put the wire in a drill chuck (battery operated drill) tighten the chuck, then grasp the wire as close to the chuck as possible then turn the drill on, turn simply move my hand holding the wire away from the chuck in a one movement, the wire becomes straight, takes few passes to archieve 100% straightness, and there is no stress applied to the wire, I let the wire spin through my grasp, I don't stop the wire turning at all.

Hi Richard. This video is a video we purchased that was not created by FMG. We wanted to show how to straighten wire. We are not sure where the hostess purchased the large spool of wire. However, many of our spools of wire we offer are in a 25-foot spool. You can see our wire here: www.firemountaingems.com/shop/wire_wrapping_wire

Does this also work for fuzzy craft pip cleaners
@FireMountainGemsАй бұрын
We would not recommend most of these techniques for pipe cleaners, as they may damage the fuzzy portion. Using your hands to straighten the pipe cleaners would most likely be the safest option, but we have only tried these techniques on jewelry wire.
