HOW TO STYLE BIRKENSTOCKS | chunky two strap sandal, street style | Beate Myburgh

I never thought I'll own a pair of Birkenstocks. The chunkier sandal has been on the rise for about two seasons, and is now in full force. If you have a look you’ll see sandals with the description: birkenstock, two strap sandal, chunky sandals & ugly chunky sandal. I don't promote participating in trends that will only last one season. If you see this trend only being part of your closet for one season, I would recommend sitting out on this one. I on the other hand hope to wear mine for more seasons to come; even if it's not part of my street style in too many future seasons I could definitely see myself wearing mine at home or for a casual grocery run.
I've styled it in these ways:
01:20 feminine (skirt + dress)
03:24 structured trousers
04:54 the sweatsuit
05:26 jeans + tee with a twist
06:00 shorts
06:50 standout item

Best shoes ever! Been using then for more than 8 years and they are definitely my to go shoe. Arizona and Madrid models are the best! I even got one Boston pair just to use at home (with working from home I love to be comfortable and put together) 😊

I'm waiting for my first pair of light blue suede Birkenstocks to arrive. I love the wide buckle Birkies. I may order a navy blue, and black wide buckle in the future. I despised Birkenstocks until recently, guess my tastes are changing. 😂

Mine is still pretty clean, so I haven't washed them. I recommend watching a few cleaning videos on KZbin (I've seen some).

My best friend in the 90s had a few pairs, I thought they were the ugliest shoes I ever saw…but now that I have chronic arch pain in my left foot, I’m reconsidering. I just can’t decide if I need the regular or the soft foot bed. I hear the soft bed doesn’t have the same orthopedic benefits, but that the regular is hell to break in, that you have to suffer weeks of pain/blisters….who the hell wants that?

I only have one pair, so I can't compare, and it took me a while to break them in, so maybe go for the soft footbed if you have pain.
