How to Swap your Antenna | FRS BRZ 86

The stock antenna made the car look like an RC car so we're swapping it out today for an OEM shark fin antenna!

The part where he’s struggling with the antenna then the video jumps and it’s off. For anyone watching you need to rotate the antenna base 90 degrees it comes right out

This is a great upgrade if you want to avoid having to unscrew/remove the antenna every time you place a cover over the car!

I did not know the antennas were interchangeable. I just did the cover.

I don't have a link as I just bought a used one I found on FB marketplace. You can sometimes find them on ebay as well.

How did you get the connector separated. You left that out.

Push the tab and disconnect it. It's a standard connector. If you look at the new one, you will see and understand how to disconnect it.

There should be a white connector that you can unplug.

Great video, our aerial lead has failed so do you know the cable route from the radio to the aerial. tried replacing the radio - just very poor reception . Regards Bruce

Unfortunately, I don't know the routing off the top of my head, but I'll be removing the headliner soon in the car so if I remember I'll reply to you!

Removing it all is the same process, you'll just need to find a way to cover the hole that's left.
