One thing the author neglected to mention. Your vacuum height setting needs to be all the way down. On the Sentra 2 anyway. That’s what I have

You're not supposed to store the belt in tension.... You'll be needing to replace that belt every time you want to shampoo if you do that....

I have the new one and I have sold them 20 years ago and they are the best vacuum that you can get as far as vacuuming. But the shampooer is a joke and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone or even try to use it. It only cleans from the top and does a mediocre job at that. Just hire your carpet cleaner guy to come by and clean your carpet. But as far as vacuuming goes nothing beats a Kirby.

When I try to clean my carpet it didn't do nothing but spit out dirt and foam then when I switch it back to the vacuum it wont stay on what did I do wrong

I dunno, but Im almost sorry I bought this gd thing & spent all that money; its sooooo complicated to use, and doesn't do a bangup job; did you find this to be the case as well? Im so frustrated! W 3 littlr ones & my Nana accidentally making spills all the time, I can barely keep up, & then I dread using this thing bc its so heavy & theres more work required to using it, than the actual clean up itself! SMH. NOT PLEASED! I wish to GOD, I had put in hard wood floors w all that freakin money, vs buying this freaking monstrous machine!!!!

Go to their website for the manual. They do require a little learning curve but they're the best machines they make and will lasts decades.

You just have to get used to it. If you have the one that self propels itself it makes it a lot easier. It is heavy but it has a really good motor. You do not need filters to clog up like other vacuums. It's the best vacuum you can get. As far as a shampooer goes that does not work. It does not vacuum anything back up it only brushes it out. That is a waste of time. Just use it as a vacuum. You will not find a better vacuum.

Gee turn on t on, engage the transmission and it’s light as a feather. I have an Oreck for the light work but when it comes to deep cleaning my Sentra can’t be beat.

Check Amazon for a new one. They're only about 3bucks but make sure you get the correct one for your model.
