So glad I could help , I have bought a lot of kirbys with unused shampoo systems and apart from the deep cleans the shampoo system is by far the best part of the Kirby . Especially if you have pets as cleans freshens all the fibres of your carpets . Just make sure it’s totally dry before vacuuming. Also make when you wash out and put shampoo system away the belt has no tension on it otherwise it will be stretched next time you come to use it. Thank you so much for the info! Can you elaborate on vacuuming the carpet a month before shampooing? Like should we not walk on it or just vacuum it every day then shampoo? I ask because we have carpet upstairs in our bedroom that was layed a few months back and we had a daugther and her nursery is up there as well. I really appreciate your time! We just got the vacuum as a gift and I love it but it’s a little discouraging because all the parts and things so you was a blessing! Thanks brother!

Just vacuum everyday for a month , you will notice your bags will fill up quick at 1st and heaven due to dirt left behind by previous plastic vacuums. After a month of vacuuming all the dirt should be out of your carpet the ready to shampoo. Hope this helps thanks again please share my channel with family and friends . 👍🛎 helps me loads

Does this method really clean the carpet properly as I find I have to work the foam into the pile with my fingers and then reshampoo the carpet then pick the suds up with the machine again working it into the carpet one last time. This usually works well as I find just once over with the shampooer is not enough to clean dirty spots or smudges. Thanks for the great videos!!

It does clean and freshen as the foam on forward motion scrubs into the pile then lays clean foam on rear motion. This is what I was taught when I used to demo the G3. Any real soiled spots or stains you can scrub with the Kirby shampoo system . I used to do that to get coffee stains out on demos as that was a great selling point of the G3. Regular shampoo systems are water , so they will put water in soaking down to understand and potentially releasing the backing glue off your carpets . Causing them to stretch and sag . Kirby’s system cleans the top surface of your carpet fibres with a dry foam, which is more efficient and safe for you carpet .

My Kirby keeps dumping the water so quickly from the compartment. It is soaking my rug. I have not found many threads with troubleshooting advice for that. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have followed each of these steps. Thank you

Check that both filters are correctly fitted in tank. The foam one on the air inlet and the screen one on the outlet pipe that goes from tank to suds tray . Hope this helps 👍🔔

Check the filter hasn’t come off the tank where the hose goes and foam pad is ok where you hook tank on Kirby . If you need replacement foam pad or tank filter links in description 👍🔔❤️

Check the little filter is on the bottle where hose goes. Aldo check the sponge filter is in place in the bottle where it connects to Kirby . Beneath the sponge are 2 holes . Im borrowing a kirby from a neighbor (what an angel right?!) Primarily for the shampooer. But they have dogs and i have an extreme aversion to any kind of pet hair (i blame my clinical ocd) im trying to free the whole system of any dog hair but i cant find the video you mentioned about cleaning a kirby and i cant get all the tiny short hairs off the shampoo brush roll. Help!

Hi Megan , take out the shampoo brushroll then just wash it in laundry sink with some warm water . Or if it’s dry you can use a rubber glove like you use to wash up . This will help grip all the fine dog hair to remove .

Its not like water extraction as that soaks carpet and underlay . Kirby uses dry foam so 95% foam and 5% water. Its normally just damp , i do mine in the morning and check it in late afternoon. Depends if its summer as it dries quicker . Or if you shampoo in the afternoon, leave over night . HI thanks for nice comment, just checking the basics 1st . are you putting correct amount of shampoo in the tank , it's 1 cap full to lower ridge on the cap depending what line you fill the water to in the tank. What model kirby do you have ? . Can you Check the small plastic filter that the hose connects to is still on your tank as these some times come of and get stuck in the tube. You have to turn the dial to shampoo. Also make sure that the elbow hose as the little suds cap on the tank where it clips on . Hope this helps

I see that you've made one pass only, and then left the foam. Is this the correct way to do it for this machine (or in general), or is it that the foam is what is doing the work so you just covered the carpet, let it crystalize/dry, then vacuum? Great videos, and thank you in advance! =-D

As the Kirby goes forward it’s scrub foam in to the carpet fibres ,Then it lays a clean layer of foam on top as you come back you can scrub this in again if you like. The carpet I used is wool , so not advisable to scrub . The foam that you scrub into the carpet fibres and lay on top absorb the dirt and crystallise. Then once dry you vacuum it up. This is the way I was taught to use when I demoed for Kirby. The idea is it’s a dry cleaning method and not to saturate your carpet as this can cause shrinkage and is damaging to wool carpets . Being a wool carpet you have to be more careful when cleaning with moisture . Though the Kirby solution ends up 95% foam and only 5% water. Hope this helps . Kirby don’t do a steam cleaner . I don’t recommend steam cleaning carpets as it shrinks the fibres and carpet

Hi man I m considering buying one of these Kirby vacuum cleaners despite their price. But I m worried about this shampoo system cause it uses dry foam and no water at all. I’m guessing you skipped the video as I show how to mix the shampoo in the tank and water to shampoo ratio. I have got coffee stains , curry stains and even wine with this shampoo system . The excess water and and dirt are collected in front tray . Hope this helps 👍👍

You did that wrong. You're supposed to turn off the shampoo then scrub up the bubbles. After it drys then vacuum.

When you turn the shampoo off it picks up the surface foam . While shampoo is turned on, In the forward motion of kirby it scrubs shampoo into fibres . I used demo the G3 for kirby and was taught how to use the shampoo system correctly. If they have changed this system then I apologise. As kirby in Australia use my channel to show new owners how to use their new kirby home cleaning system.

Sorry. I was taught differently. I used to sell kirbys years ago and was told to scrub up the foam in different directions so as to clean the carpet fibers in all directions. I'm also a carpet cleaning technician, and we do the same thing with our scrubbers. Either way works. I did want to say your channel is informative, and I love learning about my kirby. Thankyou , you have to make sure all the dirt is vacuumed out of the carpet before using the kirby shampoo dry cleaning system . If your carpet has bad stains I recommend pre treatment with kirby stubborn stain / high traffic treatment. Then shampoo , link to my kirby Amazon store in video description. 👍🔔
