Just stellar! I've just watched about 8 videos, and this guy gets it. And makes that wood frame and bolt setup to do it better, and more accurately than driving a car onto a long 4"x4" piece, or to struggle too long with screwdrivers without using that small block of wood for leverage, etc. Some forget to use soapy water. Others forget to put something down to protect the face of the alloy wheel. BRAVO!

Wow...I watched 4 videos of people using 4×4 wood and a vehicle, a scissor jack under a car and a floor jack with ratchet straps. Each one had me cringing thinking something horrific would happen. But this video with the wood form and rod with scissor jack is an engineering marvel that tops all I've seen. Good job!! I may go high tech with mine using a longer bottom wood to keep the complete tire level or add angles to that to keep it from rocking. This idea will cause me to stand the tire up, put the wood thru a spoke and lay it down level. We'll see how it goes?

After watching your video , and a few others. You guys gave me the confidence to remove my tire from the rim which had a bead leak on it. This is a great video, I watched dozens and this is very promising and very economical. Don't listen to all of these KZbin Monday quarterbacks. If they had great or better ideas, they would not be up on KZbin making negative comments. I was looking for a solution to avoid going to the tire shop to change out 4 tires. I also did not want to spend $100, or $200 on the Harbor Freight specials, only to modify it, use it one time every 5 years. Shade tree mechanics and weekend warriors buy these, not your professional shops. IF I build this and it does not work that great, its not like I am losing a lot of money. Its worth a trip to Menards. I even have a jack that uses a bolt so I can use my impact gun.

Nice job! I do this same way, 20+ years ago. 1. Your tire is soft, its more easy to do this. Try this metod with soviet old tires)))) or when you outside in winter. 2. Some time tire "glued" to rim wery strong and you must put the bar below the jack. Sorry for my english, greets from Ukraine.

if the valve was facing you when you push the tire down it will block the tire bead from going to the rim groove then you will not have enough room to get the tire off.

Brilliantly simple! :) Have wondered many times about this. I use a scaffolding pole, a loop of nylon rope as a fulcrum on top of a long piece of 2"x4" hardwood. Rather like a big pair of pincers. :) You didn't seem to protect the rim coating. Maybe it didn't matter here.

I would like to add, I modified your tool as my rim had only 1" diameter holes. The problem I had while installing the tire was to get the second side tucked in. In your vid, you stand on it and do it and it looks great. In reality, one needs the tire lip in the deep groove and work your way around
