The concept is correct but anyone doing this needs to understand that his remote had already been split apart as stated so don't think it's going to just come apart with a few easy strokes. It takes some vigorous work or at least mine did. I used a 2" wide very thin scraper tip along with a plastic pry tool. If you pry with a small screwdriver the face of the remote will look like it's been to hell and back. Take your time and it will come apart. I spent 100 dollars worth of my time to fix a ten dollar remote but it became a personal vendetta lol. Thanks for the video Charlie! PS, pancake syrup was the culprit in mine..

That remote must be a fluke because mine was completely fused together around the edges and with two plastic pins in the middle. I had to tediously saw away at mine with a razor knife and use lots of prying. No pieces came loose that would indicate a snapped together remote.

This model doesn't use screws. The old style non Alexa firestick uses screws.

Uh so after hearing i had to break it to fix it I stopped watchin. Sorry dude. The ring can be popped off with your nails. Under that is 2 parts. A ringlet and a button. The ringlet looks like its the same alll the way around. Its not. One of the cross shaped parts is slightly longer like by a millimeter thats the top. If thats put on wrong the dial wont work. The center button also has a cross but its easier to see but make sure it's lined then line up the ring correctly and snap it on. No breaking the remote or glue needed.

It's probably better if just Wrap electrical tape around it works pretty good plus if you need to change the batteries easy to come off
