Planting Dahlias and Cosmos in Containers | Dahlia Planting in Pots | First Ever Front Garden Tour

In this video we are planting out some of the dahlias we started in pots in spring. We've chosen to plant them in tall terracotta containers and combine them with Cosmos bipinnatus 'Xanthos'.
Also in this video is our first ever front garden tour including an update on the pots we have already planted in previous videos.

You're welcome, it's only a very small strip of border which is why we haven't shown it before, but when we brought the pots through, we thought why not! 😀

Love your new pots and what a great idea putting the Cosmos in with the Dahlias. I only have a small front garden too but I like that and prefer to be in the back garden pottering around. I really like the shape of your wall under the window. It gives that frontage a bit of character. My walls are straight up and down. It's good to see your other pot doing so well. I remember it being planted up. Take care. xxx

Me too Wendy, Andrew loves talking to everyone at the front but I prefer the back. We've never tried dahlias at the front before so hoping we have more success than the back where they always get eaten. I'm hoping the combination works well when the dahlias flower. The window shape is great as we get a bit more space inside too. The only downside is that we could fit more pots under the window if it was a straight wall! Take care Wendy xxxx

Happy first official day of summer guys. The front border and your containers look beautiful. You were wishing for some sun. We in Kentucky are wishing for some rain and cooler temperatures. We have not had rain in the past month, and we have a slight chance of rain next week. We are under a heat dome and every day for the past week has been 90-95 degrees factoring in the high humidity. Same in the forecast for next week. Needless to say, the only thing I'm doing to my garden is watering each morning. I look forward to seeing your dahlias in bloom in future videos. Thanks James, it certainly feels like summer this week with the lovely sunshine we're having but nowhere as hot as you in Kentucky 😎. Hope you get some rainfall soon. We had a very hot summer a few years ago. The plants were in need of constant watering. We are looking forward to showing the dahlias when they are flowering and perhaps an updated front garden peek too. Take care James
