Thanks for the clear, step by step video. I have a verbena that has self-seeded where I don't want it and which would be awkward to dig up and move so I'll use this method to take cuttings from it instead. I very much enjoyed the part where you couldn't get the bag off the pot. It made me chuckle so thanks for leaving that in ;)

Awesome thank you for such a great video/ I adore lemon verbena and mint: so shall try this method I live in the big city of London where the pollution is prolific so I like smells in my garden to create a nice atmosphere my lemon kumquat and lavender are all in bloom but you can not beat the sweet sweet smell of lemon verbena. My lemon tree has recently produced flowers that smell exactly like jasmine !! No idea how that has happened but it’s glorious on a summers night.

nice simple explanation, and well presented. We shall give it a try. We've not pruned our verbina, so I hope we will be able to do cuttings in a month or so.

Super thank you 😊 but where should I keep these over winter? I only have a tiny 4ft high plastic ‘greenhouse’ which I basically use for storage. Should I pop them in there or keep indoors near a window? Should they be watered over winter? 🥴
@LearnHow26 ай бұрын
I would keep them indoor for the first winter. Once they are planted out next spring they can stay in the ground and will keep coming back year after year.

Good step-by-step video, thanks. I have two verbena's, a very bushy beautiful strong plant, but is that little bit grown up one.. Nice to see how it grows. But that plant in the second time compost.. Is that one strong enough already to take sunlight from the compost and ground back into the garden?
@LearnHow24 жыл бұрын
Yes. As soon as they have 2 sets of leaves they are ok in full sunlight.
@jeroennietsdoenn4 жыл бұрын
@@LearnHow2 I'm gonna try that. If you look on my channel, you see the garden that I take care off. My plan is to make a lot of reborned leaves.. From different plants out of that specific garden

Great video , I'm very much a novice gardener , I'm planning to try this with some verbena and geraniums this year, can I ask: When covered with a bag and left for 4-5 weeks, do you need to spray them with water or will the moisture inside bag be enough? And once they are in their own pots, do they need to be left till following year to be ready for garden?
@LearnHow24 жыл бұрын
Hi Rod. Thank you for your appreciation. The moisture in the bag was enough for my plants but you can spray if needed. Once the roots become strong you can transplant out ... no need to wait a year. Good luck with your growing.

I took a small branch with dark green leafs on it from a multicolor verbena from spain. It looks like a wooden branch. How to take cuttings? Ive put the branch in water for now..

Thank you for a wonderful video. Once you have put the cutting in compost, after the first watering, do you then never water it? Thank you.
@LearnHow24 жыл бұрын
The plastic cover should keep the water in but if the compost appears to be getting dry then add water. Thank you for your appreciation.Keep safe.

Hi. After the process is finished.... And you have your new plant. Do you plant it back into the garden.....or overwinter it?
@LearnHow23 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert. As the plants were tender I overwintered mine in my greenhouse. Keep safe.
