Well, actually@@jimlakey8366 that's not exactly correct. It'd be better to say that urge could be described as pedantry. Though it might appear to an outside observer as pedantic, the subjective experience of our agent should be taken into account to ascertain firstly if pedantry is an accurate description and secondly if it is the best description.

Well Actually because of the short and long scale it's much preferable to use the 10^9 notation since in Germany and England pre-1974 they use the long scale and America and England Post-1974 use the short scale which can lead to confusion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_large_numbers

The physicist started to look for an exact solution, and never found one. Finally the engineer came, used some approximations and solved the problem.

On reflection, this video strikes remarkably close to what many regard as the heart of fundamental science, Occam's Razor. With each "Well, actually.." we see entities multiply, as a new necessity is introduced. For myself, I take the Marie Kondo approach to what is necessary: does it bring you joy? In that sense, every "Well, actually.." rejects not the statement being amended or corrected, but the feelings of satisfaction of the original author of that statement and seeks to heighten joy. Science is an intensely emotional project, and scientists practice designs to appeal to the feelings of those they speak to with inferences from observation, as any artists would. Discovery is your medium. Stepwise refinement toward greater accuracy or truth are your instruments. Knowledge is your palette.

1)Well, actually, the earth orbits around the sun in his reference frame. 2)Well, actually, the apparent speed of light changes, not the speed of light itself. 3)Well actually, earth is not a perfect spheroid either because its surface is not smooth. 5)Well, actually, you can also lose weight if you lose mass. Furthermore, the other person might have ment that they entered a region of lower gravitational field. 10)Well, actually, its because of difference in size, not temperature. If you could enter safely into a star, the pull would tend to decrease as you approached its center, since spherical surfaces cancell their own gravitational effects into their interiors. Correct me if I am wrong and/or inaccurate. Nice video by the way

Thanks a lot for your videos. In fact, your videos of superposition, and decoherence helped me a lot in terms of understanding of my experimental data. Well, more importantly, your techniques of being a real physisits are prompting me to acheive my final goal.

Thanks for keeping science (and scientists) and yes: Always correct (although stupidity is infinite, there is something praiseworthy in trying)

Lorentz transforms were the bane of my intro class. I finally got the hang of them in my upper level EM course.

Ouch! It made complete sense. I knew and understood every single one. For the sake of irritating completeness, let me suggest the addition of the term from mathematics: "Counter-example". People love it when a counterexample is offered. Happy New Year everybody.

I didn’t know about the term “gravity waves” or the fact that water is blue. Fascinating stuff.

1:44 You did GravitY waves versus GravitATIONAL waves!!! I have corrected physicists about that, this is the first time I have seen a physicist correct about it.

I will definitely apply informative communication from 2021 on, as it annoys me when people are just so damn stubborn yet ignorant - Best wishes for 2021, Sabine, and keep the videos coming ;)
