awesome!! thanks for ur reply, im starting with my two little piggies who love food they love running round, im teaching them to turn around because it seems easier than some complex tricks, starting with them young, there both 8 weeks, when there older and want them to be the smartest little piggies

Once you have a few little containers with different scents, choose one scent and reward the guinea pig for nibbling or picking up that particular container. Once they will consistently pick up that container, add a second scented container and reward only when they pick up the first one that you were using. Guinea pigs tend to figure out pretty quickly that they only get a treat for picking up that one particular scent.

That sounds pretty normal if you've only had him for 4 days. Most guinea pigs take a bit of time to settle in and get used to new people, especially if they're still young. Just keep trying to feed him veggies from your hand. It takes patience, but they come around in time. :)

How long did it take you to tame ace?

Not very long, Ace has always been a pretty confident and fearless little pig. My other guinea pig, Ceico, took much longer. It took him a few years to completely break through, although he's still not quite as outgoing as Ace (just his personality.) They both know lots of tricks though and like to follow me around, begging for food. :)

They can't really move their fins very far away from their body, so I wouldn't think so. Interesting idea though. :)

Start with something easy first. Practice feeding small pieces of food from your hand, and just luring short distances with food in your hand (and reward every time the guinea pig follows you one step.) After that, there's a tutorial on here called "paws up" that would probably be easiest to start with. Good luck! :)

Spartan's Tricks I thought the hand feeding was working but now she seems even more skittish of me and my hand? She used to let me pet her but now she runs. She also now tries to pull the food out of my hand and if she is successful then runs away with it and hides
