@@FMFx23 get some small gloves on them. Get them in their stance have them throw a proper jab at your forehead. Kids love that. Then try moving out the way while they try to hit you while trying to not stumble all over.

Thanks for the inspiration. :) I've recently started "sparring" with my 7yo where he tries to punch me in the stomach and I try to get him of balance with (super light) jabs and sweeps. We talk a lot about the rules (specifically if he feels something is unsafe I won't do it). He wants to do it during every break from the screen, and I get a workout too. It's so much fun! His balance have improved so much too, now it's hard to get him off balance without using force, which forces me to improve my technique. :)

Please tell me this was over a longer period of time. My little guy and I are working together and this young man can make me feel like I’m making mistakes somewhere or worse make another little guy feel like he’s not good enough. Introduce them with fun but make sure to engrain good fundamentals. As they get older and (if) they have a hunger for the competitive nature of it - then you can be harder on them. They'll likely appreciate it but it requires you to judge when they're ready. Too much too soon will scare a young mind off boxing. Just my opinions based on experience 🤙

No it is not. But at that age if your a dad or mom that has basic knowledge on proper punches. I’d just spend some extra time going over stance jabs cross hook upper cuts and learning to block.

Never to young to train. Do fun stuff with him. You can’t be to Serious when comes to training kids. They will quickly test your patience and you may give up thinking they will not learn. Keep it fun where you are triggering some boxing technique repetition. For instance get a tennis ball or even a softball you stand against the wall and have him throw it at you while he stay in his boxing form. Great have him work on his pivots as he throws. Then you have him stand against the wall and you throw the ball at him. While he works on reflects

Help him build a strong stance teach him the proper jab Cross and hook. Repeat proper technique over. If you have a resistant band use it around his Waist have him throw the a proper jab as you put resistant front left back and right maybe do each side for one minute. When you put resistant and he throws the punch if he falls make him adjust his feet and stay planted. When he seem to be getting it take the resistant off and tell him he should feel like resistant bands are attached to him after he throws any punch. Giving him a solid foundation. Repeat for every punch and combos. Easywork.
