Thanks for the feedback. I usually do not use the audio of the B roll, because that would be low quality and require me to wire up for training.

What a great video and an easy technique to try practising. Thank you! One question, if you use it to learn leash walking, how and when do you start pulling back on the treats, to allow the dog to sniff on a daily walk.
@TrainMePlease Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment and question. This will be a super simple answer, but hopefully it points you in the right direction. When you have loose leash walking and usually this is accomplished by getting good eye contact at the start it is super easy to transition to a more casual walk. You can start reinforcing both looking at you and looking forward. You can put "go sniff" on cue. You can then reduce reinforcers slowly. With all that said I do like to always have reinforcers with me on a walk. If I see good behaviour I like to have the ability to increase its future frequency. Makes sense?
@MidgeDog Жыл бұрын
@@TrainMePlease Thanks! Yes I always have treats on me. I was thinking of using the 123 for leash walking with my foster rescue dogs as getting them to focus on me is super difficult, when you only have them for a limited time, and they often have never been walked or on a lead before, but are adults, so need some exercise. So I was wondering how do you transition from 123 to normal walking, so that the dog will stop and sniff and you can walk without having to keep counting. Do you just stop counting constantly, and start leaving gaps in between the counting, or something like that?

I think I might use this but with a funny/cute rhyme instead of "1, 2, 3" My dogs love when I sing little songs to them 😂 (Pattern)

Thank you for addressing that you Don't have to hand feed your pup. So many tools and tips depend on being able to get the pup to eat out of your hand. Our dog is small and nervous so both make it extremely difficult to treat in some scenarios. Thank you!

What if the dog rushed ahead or gets frustrated with rate of reinforcement?
@TrainMePlease7 ай бұрын
Great questions. If the dog rushes ahead, I think I would read it as a need to break the behaviour down to smaller components or easier environment for the dog to succeed. Then, we can go back to the situation in which the dog rushed ahead. I've never seen frustration with the ROR with this game when taught the way I mention in the video, but if that happened, I would probably a little more often reinforce on one or two steps and not always on three. At least for a little bit.
