Shaw Cremeans I live in Canada, and here not only are you not supposed to drive around with a gun besides you, if you get pulled over, there's really no reason you should have both hand on the steering wheel without moving or else you get shot. My buddy and I got stopped one time, he was armed. He told the officer right away. Asked the officers to remove the firearm before they proceeded with anything else. Officer removed the weapon from my buddies hip, proceeded to talk to us about why he stopped us (we were going 15 over the speed limit). He gave him a warning simply because of how he interacted with the officer. The officer was so happy with how that all played out and thanked my friend for taking the extra step of asking to have the firearm removed before anything else.

There was one video I saw 2 years ago from a gun-based channel, the process shown was: 1.) When you're pulled over, before the officer walks over to speak with you, pull out your carry permit then put both of your hands on the wheel (this stops your hands from leaving their sight later to grab the permit which could get hairy). 2.) Tell the officer you're carrying and use one hand to give them the permit, keep the other hand on the wheel. 3.) Tell them where the weapon is on your person or in the car. 4.) If instructed to do something, comply. 5.) If instructed to exit the vehicle, open the door from the outside handle.

@Tommy EarBoxes I was once stopped in a speed trap a couple years ago, and I had my firearms permit and was concealed carrying. Most certainly the cop saw that I had a firearms license when he ran my driver's license, but he never asked and I never said. I took my deserved ticket and went on my way. I'm glad you got away from the Northeast. It took twenty years, but I finally escaped sucky NJ four and a half years ago, and now am in the Deep South. I hate the fire ants and red wasps, though.

I am a retired federal agent (plain clothes) and if I was pulled over I kept my hands on the steering wheel and tell them that I am a federal agent and I am armed. I let the police officer tell me what to do. It was that simple. I never had my gun on a seat or under the seat. It was always on my person. If I was coming from the range and I had extra guns, I kept then in a gun bag that was closed and zipped up. Nothing was ever in plain view.

They had mistook him for a person of interest with links to terrorism and had been following him through the tube station. When he then climbed onto a packed train wearing his back pack, the officers had to make a split second decision on whether to risk him blowing up the train or shoot him dead. Great advice. I’m reading all these comments about this being some kind of freak show, especially from Europeans and Asians. The best way to understand the need for guns is to understand that we carry to protect ourselves from tyrants, both singular and organized. That’s it. We don’t capitulate and our freedom and liberty is worth the expense, training and at times accidents that take the life of innocents. Although I would argue that the accident is more a case of carelessness. The citizens of other countries have capitulated and rely on others for their very safety. That naturally seems weird to Americans. Imagine a foreign country that would try to overthrow the U.S.! We alone have millions of hunters as well as a incredible military. Nobody in their right mind would use force. Deterrence is peace. If everybody carried concealed in this country the deterrence factor would be high. The strong with bad intent would be reluctant to use force over the weak. Peaceful society. Places where firearms are sold are some of the most polite and mannerly environments that you can have.

I don't believe the founding fathers ever intended such a thing and the constitution is worded that way too. It's been warped and twisted to mean what the NRA want it to mean but scores of constitutional lawyers who were not being paid by the NRA have stated countless times that citizens were never meant to carry firearms en masse. The wording states that "a well regulated militia" I'd bet a years wages that the founding fathers never meant for every citizen to be armed with the kind of weaponary available today. People are so concerned with their rights in America you hear it mentioned daily. When you live in Europe your rights are often set in stone and police and authoritys don't ever attempt to remove or circumvent them like they do in America therefore people dont need to jump about trying to protect themselves all the time. You're own badly trained police and crooked governments have made your people deeply untrusting of their system. Which is why you all hang on to every constitutional break you are given. Yet America capitulates for the greater good everyday. You wear a seat belt cause the man tells you too. you don't speed too much or too fast cause you accept that the man will chase you and throw you in jail. You don't scream FIRE! in a theatre despite having freedom of speech.In fact regarding that freedom of speech the only thing I've ever seen it used for that's outside of what you can do in Europe is that you can legally abuse a cop verbally here in the U.S. In England you cannot as it's a breach of section 5 of the public order act. Every society capitulates on some level. if you did not have the rule of law you would have a concrete jungle. Americas system is dangerous and broken and many people have lost their lives to guns that really don't need to be so widly and so easily available.
