It used to be considered bad practice to power up audio equipment without all speakers connected. There are generally at least 4 seperate amp outputs on auto radios now, so 4 speakers or four 4 ohm resistors.Keep the audio level set low. Line out or sub out do not need to be connected. New audio chips can probably survive a no load condition, however I would not risk it.

Having an issue with the fact that the acc wire goes straight into a can bus, and doesn’t split either. could this still work?

Still works in my car even until today. My kids love the fact that we can store hundreds of our favorite songs in it. I personally love its GPS capability and I can run Waze on it instead on my smartphone 👍

I also love that it serves as a very useful monitor when I'm backing up (reverse gear).
