HOW TO TEST WINDOW MOTOR ON CAR WINDOW DOES NOT WORK, WINDOW NOT GOING UP AND DOWN
If your car window is not working and the window does not go up or down it could be bad window motor. In this video we will explain how to test window motor and to know if your window motor is good or bad. Most of the cars will use this design of window motor. If your window is not working it could be at least 5 things that can cause that but we always start diagnosing by checking the window fuse, window relay, and then the window motor. By knowing if the motor works or not you will know where to look what causes your window not to work. We demonstrated how to test rear window motor but this procedure will apply to testing front window motor ( with this design) as well. If you need to rebuild window motor we will have video on the channel.

Nice Video. I have to get myself some of these clips and such a batterypack. The motor for the Tailgate window of my 4th gen Toyota 4-Runner has 6 Pins! I cannot seem to find a diagram that shows which pins are ground and which are positive. Would someone be able to help, please?

09 Mazda 3, pass window rolls down but not up, used to eventually go up after a hundred tries, now it will only go down from both the pass switch and using the driver control, same thing. Ran 12v to the motor directly and raised it up no problem, then unplugged the motor so it won't happen on accident lol...until I figure out wth the problem is. Great video!!!

I wanted to test my cars old mechanisms connections if they work, but this video was the 99% of similar ones, i have 6 pins, lucky you with 2 pins. Need to keep searching.

If you disconnected the socket connection from the motor and measure on the socket wire terminal it shouldn't have any voltage right unless you press the up and down button right?. I disconnected my motor and the socket wire terminal has 12 Volts even your not pressing the switch up and down button is this normal? Thanks

What about if my rear passenger window doesn't work through the switches either the main switch or that door..... I tested the window motor like you did in your video and it works just like yours. The only time I can't get the window to work is when I use either the main switch up front or the switch for that door. I can get it to work through the window switch harness and everything else but the switches.. I even replaced the window switch still nothing I checked the relays and fuses all good

Ransom Palinski did you figure anything out with your power window situation. I have the same exact issue going on with my passenger window. I even tried 3 different switches and still nothing. I'm thinking it's gotta be a break or bad bend in the wiring on the inside of the wire jackets. I might try to cut the plastic harnesses off and solder everything.. .idk

no. once disconnect wire from motor you have disconnected from the car battery.
