First off I must say that I love your wife's laugh! Thank you for this video. It's going to be helpful for me because, usually when I go to a hairdresser, I try to just sit back and let them do what they do. Unfortunately, that has led to some very disappointing results. I'm just about to get my haircut again and, after watching some of your other videos, I have decided to get bangs and layers. I am quite nervous because of my previous experiences but my hair is fine, thinning, shapeless, and has so many split ends that it's growing shorter instead of longer so I really have no choice but to put myself in someone's hands. This video will help because I'll be able to watch what's being done and be able to comment on it before it's too late. I now have so many 'tips' to give the hairdresser that they'll probably be happy to see the back of me. LOL. Thank you to you both for empowering me.

Are 𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 shears better for curly hair as opposed to 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 shears? I heard that thinning shears should not be used on curly hair because it will cause more split ends.
@zsazsak8794 жыл бұрын
Isn’t point cutting better for wavy or curly hair as thinning shears can cause the ends to fray out and frizz?
@justinhickox4 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! It depends on how you use the razor. For the most part you will be correct, however there are definitely ways to utilize the razor that will not strip the hair away into nothing and create the illusion of frizz.

@justinhickox4 жыл бұрын
This is a great question and to be honest, it’s probably a bit of my fault as well. Even in my description of this video I still refer to the texturizing shears that I use as “thinning shears“ because that’s what most People know them as. So while I was trying to make it easy for people, I think I’ve even added to the confusion. I’m going to change my descriptions from now on. With that said, if you look in the description to this video you’ll see a link to my favorite thinning shears, those are the texturizing shears that I use every day. I love them.
