I love your analogy of scraping the rim on the ground.

Great, sometimes we have to hear different analogies. Just make sure your arm is still loose enough so the arm whips out.

Amazing tips. I struggle with nose angle. And top out at like 300 feet. I took notes and will bring this to the field tomorrow. Thanks man! Great and straight forward video.

I hope it helps, record yourself in slow motion. You will see what you are doing right and wrong. Let me know how it went.

If pouring the coffee works and not turning the key, then the trajectory is perpendicular to your torso. That means you are over rotating your upper body, or you are letting the disc slip out or letting go too early. If the trajectory of the disc is closer to parallel to your torso, then turning the key works. It is important to have a trajectory more parallel because that means you are better utilizing the fulcrum point to rapidly increase angular velocity. Just think about a new player "grip locking" a disc. Grip locks are usually some of their furthest throws, just way off line. Max distance throws are essentially "grip locks," but because the torso is still parallel with the target at the point of release, the disc flies on the intended path.

Great tip. I will play around with this. I mean I can get it sometimes with this and it does get the nose down but I need to work on it more. This tip I mentioned in the video has been working really well especially with people with slower arm speed. I still come back to other techniques people have mentioned in the past just to see if something will give me more distance. I will have to say that my accuracy is something I can trust. Once again, great feedback.

@Hyzerwyzer That's going to be an individualized trick. It's where seeking coaching can be helpful. For some players, mental cues are great. You can imagine you are a lefty batter trying to hit over right field. Or you can try to over exaggerate by trying to throw the disc on a path behind you, tricking your body into delaying the hit point and holding on to the disc longer. Or you just may need to drill in slower shoulder rotation with standstill throws. It really just depends on the person.

This helped me think about nose down totally differently. Thank you. I am going to practice this. I subscribed..

Same here, once you slow down you can start to feel your body move the way you need it to for specific shots. Feel vs Real. Thanks for the comment.

People stay away from higher speed discs if they have a "slow" arm or don't throw that far. I've been looking at a Bolt because I have two 158g Havocs that I can get out 300' forehand and backhand three feet off the ground in a straight line. Distance is also a function of where you play. I'm in the woods hitting gaps and tunnels so I just never naturally developed anything that resembles a distance shot. I've mostly decided I'm OK with 300 as long as it's low and straight. Even if I find myself on a huge open course eventually it's not like I can't just do that twice (since I'm not a pro and started in my mid 40s). Also being in the short category I find a "full" reach back doesn't do much but hurt my accuracy. Extending my joints does very little for physics. I greatly appreciate the sample selection here to look at since be a foot taller won't be a helpful tip. I can also say that I put on 30lbs of muscle from a starting point of already trained for 30 years and it did nothing for my distance. It just made it so I can rip on discs and my shoulder isn't going to go down the fairway with the disc so moving a few grams of plastic doesn't change even if you're training for being explosive and getting much stronger.

Thanks for the feedback Cesar. I am 40 as well, and while form is great to work on. I find myself throwing easier but not super far. I can still surprise myself with distance, but I am getting more consistent and placing the disc where I want them to land. I can still shot really good on the course and I do have my favorite disc but what I am looking towards is the long game. I don't want to injure myself because I am technically still young. Playing this game is really my life and I want to be able to do it for a long time. Keep an eye out for a tech disc video and thanks again for the feedback.

@let_it_fly_dg, thank you for the great tips. We have similar arm speed and height (you have much better form than I) so these videos are excellent for me. I appreciate the time you put into them. I hope your channel does great, man.

I’m wrestling with how is this different than throwing on hyzer? How do you throw a hyzer while using this technique?
@let_it_fly_dg
@let_it_fly_dg 4 ай бұрын
Good question. I am working on a video as we speak on how to control your angles but short answer for now. You want to maintain the upper body mechanics and bend at the waist.

@@let_it_fly_dg so the flight plane is directly related to the angle of the upper torso. So that’s how you throw nose down and still hyzer? I tried the nose down (drag the disc on the ground feeling) and I chucked several at least 50’ past my normal distance. I’m excited to learn more. Thank you 😊

Nose down has nothing to do with pouring tea or turning keys. It is the result of the physics of gyroscopic precession. A spinning disc in flight is affected by outside forces 90 degrees in the direction of rotation away from where the external force is applied. Pete Ulibarri has a video that explains it in detail but is easy to understand - kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH2UnIyLhrdsiMU&pp=ygUNcGV0ZSB1bGliYXJyaQ%3D%3D and also this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6C8Y5mFp86WhpYsi=PpOaJxa3AN1dSYwb The fact of the matter is that nose down release happens because the last point of contact with the disc is the forefinger applying an upward force on the disc on its way to "snapping" into the thumb. The application of this upward force can be seen 90 degrees in the direction of rotation. The disc lifting slightly at this location is what pushes the nose side opposite to be down.

I've seen it when it came out, great video. I've also seen other videos that have been playing around with thumb pressure. One guy was only able to throw nose down from taking the thumb completely off the flight plate. Crazy stuff. Finger pressure is real.

that tail wind was strong. There's way less resistance to slow down a disc so it will carry further. High glide keeps it in the air longer too. Then there's the hella big skip that happened when everyone yelled OHHH.
@moretoolivefour
@moretoolivefour 4 ай бұрын
Robert, you are correct. It was a tailwind but it wasn’t high winds at all. 10 - 15 mph. Most people throw full power and still can’t get there. As far as the skip, it wasn’t a major skip. If the disc was stable to over stable, then it would get a major skip because the tailwind would allow the disc to get on edge. In this case, getting the nose down is important. Thanks for the comment.

The funny thing about KZbin is that you don't want a high percentage of subscribers only watching the video, or your channel isn't growing.
