Awesome. New to fishing. Makes sense to cut off that big loop into one line. Thanks for keeping it simple.

Like it! The one liners are extra good. “We’d call it a caster loop.”

Great video. Here on the west coast, we used to dropper loop rig for deeper water to catch cod, white fish, and sea bass. On tuna we free line. Another words,we just let the bait swim freely and we feed it line as it swims away. We also cast lures. Do you see any type of problem with the free lining set up?

i think you are not using a leader , but making the drop look direct to the line , i live in los barriles , can i use 50lbs mono direct as sometimes we do hook up with marlin from bottom fishing

Ok, got it. However I must be missing something. If you cut the loop, your hook is either tied to the line leading to the weight or to the main line. If tied to the line leading to the weight, pulling on the hook easily remove it from the mainline and you’ve lost your fish. I wouldn’t cut the loop unless I was sure my hook was tied to the main line. Am I missing something?
@YourSaltwaterGuide2 жыл бұрын
I can only show you how I do it . I have no idea how you do it. Do what ever you want. I just fish everyday for the lAST 48 YEAR. I AM SURE YOUR WAY IS BETTER.
@brantrichardson1949 Жыл бұрын
@@YourSaltwaterGuide I had the same thought as Christopher that I would want the the hook tied to the main line. Thank you Saltwater Guide for responding with confidence, it makes me feel better about just clipping it and tying on a hook. It definitely makes sense that a single line with a hook tied on is less visible to the fish than a loop. Been "hooked" on your videos since I found them.

Don't worry. I have been fishing in Asia and we cut the loop every time everybody do that. The video shown it correctly on what should be the drop loop is. One key point is drop your sinker slowly to the bottom otherwise the drop loop will be mess with the main line.

If the knot is cinched properly. I myself thought that way till I was taught better. Sit there and tie a couple dozen loops and you'll see. They need to come together with momentum not force. 🤙best of luck!
