How to tie a heel lock (Racer's Loop) for a running shoe

Richard from Profeet (www.profeet.co.uk) explains how to tie a heel lock for your running shoes. This type of lacing is also known as the 'Racer's Loop'.
This is designed to lock in your heel much tighter. Using the rarely used rear-top eyelet, we create loops then pass down the laces through these loops.
This allows you to get a really tight lock on around the top of the foot.

It helps to lock down the heel to some extent but not by that much-and it puts a lot of pressure on the top of the foot.

I was disappointed my shoes don't seem to have these .. I'm fed up of them untying as I run and was looking for solutions. Then I realised I think maybe the shoes could just be redone (in fact any shoes) by just making the top hole the "special" hole?

I've done that with very long laces. It looks more complicated than it is, it's like you loop back to double up the laces, then tie them like they are normal laces, doubled up.

If the back hole that you do have has enough space, you can accomplish nearly the same thing by feeding the lace back in through that same hole and then creating the loop as shown.
