You have not only demonstrated beautifully the tying of what is a tricky fly to master but also I notice the nonchalant use of your whip finishing tool! 😉very nicely done Lindsay!

Great work, Sir! I particularly liked when you said "Highland Peat". I'll pour a wee dram this evening.

I totally agree dude. Don’t see the use for the gallows tool/set up either. Too much hassle. I’m not that good anyway so messing about with that makes it even worse. Pleased to see you’re finding the whip finish tool easier. Nicely done dude. Keep it up and keep safe.

I totally agree with you, I've got a gallows tool and I've used it once, I can do big reds without the hassle of the gallows , and a parachute hackle catches me more fish than a para loop. I've tried the big red on the top dropper with 2 midas below it on Menteith and it was great fun!! Nicely done Lindsay!! ATB Chris

Great tie Lindsay. You’re starting to look like a natural with the whip finish tool, even counting the turns. 👍👏😁

Paraloop flies are a pain to make. Their footprint on the water makes up for the extra work needed. Especially when there is a ripple on the water the hackle helps to keep buoyancy and visibility of the pattern.

Or, alternatively, go to Davie McPhail or Barry Ord-Clarke to see a paraloop done properly.

Lindsay says "Don't bother!" And I laughed because I agree with your sentiments. Parachutes are not my favorite to tie then you pour vinegar into the wound and I tried paraloops. I'm not saying they don't work, I just don't find success with them. It was great instruction though Lindsay, professional all the way.

There are just easier more efficient patterns to tie pal.
