Thank you so much - i was able to fix my Dad's Toki pendant necklace that i carved for him in Franz Josef but the lovely family there took care of the cord side of it so I didnt have a clue how to repair it after it broke. Hi Campbell, thank you so much for your informative videos! I just finished putting new cord on my pounamu, but I didn’t get the sliding knots even, so when it’s adjusted, the knots are down one side. Is this fixable or do I need to start again with new cord?
@CampbellCarving5 жыл бұрын
The important part of making it even is having the same length on each side from the pendant to the knots. So as long you have that you should be able to retire the sliding knots. You may need to shorten one side which may cause issues if it will no longer fit over the wearers head!
@emmasmart92455 жыл бұрын
@@CampbellCarving I'll give that a go, hopefully it still fits! Thank you :)

May I use nylon thread too? How would it fare in comparison to polyester, and do they fray over time?
@CampbellCarving5 жыл бұрын
What thread is up to you, give it a go. I'm not sure how they wear or fray compared to each other sorry.

My neck is really bothered by the poly cord that came with my pounamu , because it was melted into hard spots on each whipping knot. So I got a spool of waxed cotton to try instead. Am I asking for trouble?
@CampbellCarving6 жыл бұрын
Nancy Lane I have not worked with waxed Cotten before but it sounds like a great idea. The ends might fray a bit I guess so make sure your knots are tight but go for.

Do you have a video on how to make a normal necklace (same paunamu and cord) but make it so a baby can fit? As it’s an adult size and the knots we make are getting annoying
