As ever a couple of points. The chain bead adds both wobble and more vertical movement. They have insufficient mass to invert the hook so it swims point up. If this is a requirement metal dumbbell eyes will do that. Add either painted eye or stick on with a protective couple of layers of resin or varnish. I have had good results early season and winter. On heavy mid weight hook standard or buzzer with eyes from heavy fluorescent nylon blobbed holding a short length of line in pointed tweezers heat close to but not into a flame. Melt not burn it. In 12/14 they could still be used comp rules within size and due to zero extra weight added

Hi Lindsay, you tied the bead eyes on top so the fly will swim point up. Do you ever tie the eyes under the eye of the hook? Any difference in hook up ratio

Yes, sometimes I tie them underneath. It does not seem to make much odds to be honest.
