@@lindsayiflyfish Well we know fly fishing isn’t “serious business.” So, if you do make it out here and you want some of our native Cutthroat spots, please do look me up. My videos are simply for my enjoyment to share with other people; they’re NOT professionally shot like yours! So if there’s a spot or a few you’d like to know about, let me know how I can help.

One of the best months in our season. With the water starting to cool so that the saturation levels of oxygen in the water rises. With the bonus that the fish are starting to feed hard to start building up energy reserves for winter. It can be a win win especially for the shuggie tempting the brownies or daddies cormorants Red Devil’s for the rainbows. My pluses would be ants beetles or big red variations in smaller sizes and in amber or claret. That micro blob or fab is not to be underestimated. Tight Lines and a great session for tomorrow pal

@@lindsayiflyfish as much as we love your fishing vlogs. Enjoy the time on the water. Especially hope you can tempt some of the resident huge brownies. May and June give the numbers. September is the time to hunt the monsters. Release the Shuggie. Or one of Davey’s fnf Fritz zonkers

Thank you. I love September fishing in new England. I guess I'll tie some boobis. Unfortunately it's like fishing with marshmallows, which work really well but cannot bring myself to do it. As long I can call it a fly I guess. Lol. Carry on.

Great stuff. I fish small waters. I tend to use mini daddies and cdc shuttlecocks on the top. Snatchers and skinny cormorants when wish are near the top, and mini yellow beaded damsels and my own cat variant and black taddy as lures.....and then.....about 50 others!

Brilliant video Lindsay! Always look forward to your videos as they’re really informative. I’ve only just got into fly fishing for the last 6 months or so and have been using floating line only. I was thinking of now getting an intermediate and sinking line as winter will be coming up. Are there any specific brands I should go for the intermediate and sinking lines? Maybe a video on recommended fly lines in the future would be great, as too many people say some lines have bad memory etc and some are great but your advice has always been spot on mate!
@lindsayiflyfish3 жыл бұрын
Sinking lines only get Airflo.
@BasithZaman3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I assume for intermediate to get airflo lines as well? Really appreciated it honestly mate!
@lindsayiflyfish3 жыл бұрын
@@BasithZaman The only line that I would consider that is not Airflo would be the floating line and for that you are hard pressed to find anything that is better than a Wychwood Rocket Floater.

Hi Lindsay another enjoyable video clip well done being a newcomer to fly fishing also fly tying could you please tell me if all the fly’s that you recommended from September onwards are they wet fly’s or dry ? as I’m still trying to learn the difference between wet fly’s and dry also when demonstrate how to tie a Fly is it possible? if you could state if the fly is a wet or dry fly as this would help newbie’s like me Colin Williams

Yes, absolutely! I just sometimes take it for granted but you make a great point. I will try to remember that in the future. In this video there were a mix of lures, nymphs and dry flies.

I am a little different when it comes to taking care of my tackle. I don't put anything away wet. After fishing, I do reel cleaning and lube if needed and I clean and dry my fly lines and use a fly line conditioner as needed. And double for fishing in the salt. Since I live alone I always got waders boots fly lines hanging to dry. It takes very little time at the end of the day. The payoff is Rods and reels are always in good condition, some of my reels are 50 years old now and well while they have seen hard use, they are not abused. As for fly lines, I look at floating lines like tires on a car, they do wear out. Sinking and sink tips last longer for me, I check for knicks. I will say that fly lines today last a whole lot longer than they did in the past. Mucellen that is good stuff I have a can of that that I bought 40 years ago. You don't need much.
@lindsayiflyfish3 жыл бұрын
That’s very disciplined George I would like to tell you I am the same. The truth is when I can cut out a whole day to go fishing I am generally up at 5am sometimes earlier. By the time I get home it’s often 8-9pm exhausted. The kit stays in the car until the next morning.
