I suspect this might tempt some springtime Lake Trout or large Pike here in Colorado.

What size hook did you use? I'm eager to tie up this fly just like your recipe.

What is the tail material? And what size foam?
@jasonking88693 жыл бұрын
the foam is 5mm and the tail is made out of plastic bracelets like you'd get for kids party favors

More close up views would be helpful both at the end of the video and during the tying.

cut the tail from thin leather or vinyl in the classic curly tail style more life-like action.

I am thinking if I ever suffered from hantavirus, I'd rather name this bug the Macho Mouse or something more fun. I think the trout are responding to the wake rather than any accuracy of the fly. This would explain why my go-to mouse pattern is two wrap-around strike indicators stuck to one of my most beat up streamers. Even with flame orange, it is a hell of a trout catcher. Next I want to try just a big marshmallow - maybe paint it gray to call it a fly ;) . When the meal is this big, the trout are not going to be as picky if it MOVES the right way!
