How to Tie Realistic Mayfly Nymphs (and Why You Should!)

#flytying #nymph #flytyingjunkie The Heptageniidae are a family of mayflies with around 20 genera and over 500 described species throughout the world. They are referred to as flat-headed mayflies. They are generally small mayflies with three long tails, but some have 2 tails.
The nymphs of the Heptageniids are mainly found in fast-flowing streams, but some species are in still waters. The nymphs have a flattened shape and are usually dark in color. There are species that are herbivores, scavengers, and predators.
