For anyone else having the issue where the model is rotating when first setting the first person camera (FPS camera starts first) - I found that if you go into Third person character (self object) and tick the box under "pawn" that sets "use controller rotation yaw" this fixes the issue for me and gives full functionality. Great video, thank you so much!

THANK YOU. The previous tutorial I followed had us going through a half-hour of multiple complex and convoluted steps, and in the end it didn’t even work! This is 100x better. Clear, simple and concise!

Nice and working perfectly, even running backwards or towards left or right directions! :D Thanks you for providing this really helpful tutorial, that is what I was looking for to change perspectives, event this could be useful for code changes ingame cutscenes or other events :)

Wonderful tutorial as always, however one thing is that when I parent the camera to the head socket for first person, my camera moves around a lot due to animations. Is there a way to stop the camera from moving/rotating from the animations? Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Hey Matt ,I find your tutorials very helpful thank you! Question.. When moving side to side or backwards in the FPP perspective I get a camera shake , I see there are some comments below with the same issue. Anyway around this?

Better to add and use socket of head bone of skeleton used in character. And in my opinion instead of moving and rotating camera it is better to move/rotate socket attached to head bone. BTW nothing stops player from looking straight down with undesirable results. Video does not address that.

hello,i recently watch a lot of videos about unreal engine to creat a item inspection,so i been inspired about if i use line trace in a inspection UI that i can use mouse drag the item aim an position to acquire a keycard or some props,but i don't how to do, and it's really a big trouble to me .so please,bigwig mat.can you make a tutorial series about line trace in inspection UI?

Good video, thanks. I'm doing a TES-style project and I'm having trouble. Namely, from the line trace channel. I can connect either FP camera or TP camera to this function. If I set up the trace from 1st person, then everything is fine in camera mode. But if I switch to the 3rd person, then it is difficult to "hit" the subject. How can I change the camera source for the trace channel (and beam length) depending on the camera mode?

I experimented out of curiosity, and I found it was easier to start the toggle function out with a Flip Flop node. Then no check is needed, just swap between the two.

I found second problem in this project ... when you are in FPS mode walking back causes shaking of the screen. Because in Third Person when you push "S" the person walk to camery with face but in FPS it should walk back.

Could be there some setting some limits for Yaw of Camera? I made it according your video. GREAT tutorial, thank you very much. But when I look down I see throw mesh of character and I would like somehow put the limit there so if player is in FPS he can not look directly down let say just 10° or 5°.

my character starts absurd motions and inverted controls problem when i switch from first person to third person camera and make the character stand for a while.

I had a bug where in confined spaces the camera would make the walls become invisible. It was due to the collision test on the camera boom and was resolved by getting the 'Camera Boom' component and setting 'Do Collision Test' to 'False' for first person then back to 'True' for Third Person mode.

I tried to follow the advice you gave me, to stop crouching when swimming, "I.e Crouch Input>Branch (with condition of Get character movement, get movement mode, is swimming)>True do nothing, False go into your crouch code." Sorry I got confused when attaching it to the crouch, I ended up not being able to crouch

I have in my character a third person and first person camera perspective that you can switch.... My question is can I adjust the cam connection so that the movements of the cam are a little softer. currently when running the cam shakes so much that I get sick. Where and how can I adjust this?

In the camera boom there's a lag option, maybe with a 0 length you can fake a fps camera with the lag enanchements?

when changing to first person, disable the character movement's component "orient rotation to movement" re-enable it when switching to third person

Hello Everyone! Don't know if anyone reads this, but if you reverse the camera order (make FPP as starting camera) then the control Yaw will not apply unless you switch to TPP and back. Is there any solution for this where we can implement control Yaw before the switch?

NVM, fount it immediately. For anyone who might need, just apply the same node at the end of mouse turn left/right input controls
