I remember discovering this for the first time while going at it with the mates.. Really like the position I get after up pressure, especially if I get my elbow forward, to counter opponents back pressure (if they react).

Then Irakli said he was "only at abbout 50%" for that match with Toddzilla. Come on now Irakli, like really..?
@megavolt672 жыл бұрын
@@Jtwizzle Marcio kept mentioning beforehand that he didn't have the best preparation for Irakli and looked uncomfortable whenever answering questions about how he felt leading up to the match. So I'm thinking Marcio wasn't in peak condition either (though the 50% weaker claim on Irakli's part for the Toddzilla match is ludicrous). If Irakli wants a rematch with Toddzilla after such a lopsided loss, then he should also consider giving Marcio a rematch but with proper preparation since Marcio didn't handle the short turnaround (and he has a physically taxing day job, which doesn't help) from East vs West very well.

Been watching these "how to beat a presser" videos...which are everywhere. As a new presser, noone puts any videos out to give me pointers. Makes it tough getting better at armwrestling. If my pronation and supination wasn't weak I wouldn't try pressing. Just felt natural....now what? Lol
@mortenrl19462 жыл бұрын
Be ready to switch to straight up back pressure imo, if opponent starts pushing up, and you pull towards yourself, there's a good chance you can open them up. (also I think coach ray has a lot of videos on press/shoulder roll) ((also recommend training the other movements, you really do need pronation and supination, especially supination+wrist flexion as it will further empower your press))
@T12J72 жыл бұрын
Why do you have 6 variations in your conjugate system? Like is the 6 the minimal amount of variation you need, or is it the optimal? Also, if it is the minimal or optimal, then what's the reasoning behind this number - that is _Why is 6 the minimal, or why is 6 the optimal? Why not just to have two variations which one could circle around?_ I'm planning to run an experiment with this so I'm just curious to get this right so that I test this theory properly.

How do we differentiate a press from a exploding hand technique if they are going same direction? Unless press is directed towards the peg and exploding hand is directed towards your opponents corner to the outside edge of their elbow padi guess.

That middle pressure is internal rotation. Not exactly elbow side pressure but more shoulder pressure. The best way to beat a presser is not so much up pressure but getting them out of their shoulder with internal rotation. This is why Dave chaffee is so effective against Jerry.
@muvmentpodcast82422 жыл бұрын
I agree, that requires stronger side pressure /pronation than down pressure and gripping them low enough to control the arm and not the hand..... B
@rileyneufeld70012 жыл бұрын
@@muvmentpodcast8242 Yep. You're not going to be able to generate enough up pressure to stop someone like Jerry or talgat from pressing you. You have to keep them out of that position in the first place.

I also find effective to attack press with a press, and if i go from defence i usually almost lean back on my tricep, so this way my biceps are not involved as much as its under attack when you try to be tall on a set up and lean forward to opponent
