A big mistake athletes make in the gym, in that they are focusing on the wrong things. If you´re also going to the gym as an athlete and your main goal is to build muscle, you are on the right path - to failure.
As an athlete, your main goal in the gym should be to build strength, power and speed, building muscle should be an add-on that comes with it. Don´t believe me? Train ONLY like a bodybuilder for a year and track your progress. I bet you that the guy who trains as they should will DESTROY you and outperform you.
Stop believing all the "influencers", who say that you can train only your lower body more explosively and your upper body like a bodybuilder - you can´t.
