A lot of the people focus on the Workouts/Stations, but those are such short parts, that fast running is the most important part. I have also underestimated this myself. I burned through the exercises, but was then too slow when running, and then didnt reach my goal time.

I went to Hyrox London event yesterday (25th September), the 1st UK 1 I believe, went as a spectator, as I knew I’m not fit enough to compete yet, but next year….., and coming across this video 👍🏻👊🏻, the atmosphere at this event was amazing, and cos it was new it wasn’t packed out with people, which was good, but hey, I’m sure that’ll change 👍🏻 and then Hyrox will need a bigger venue 😁 and I took plent of videos for my Instagram page, hoping to put together a short video for KZbin

anyone: which shoes to wear, stable and grippy enough for the lunges and burpee broad jumps and sled push/pulls and comfortable enough for the running part? I train in metcons but my feet will die from all the running I think. ps competing in februari 2022 for the first time

Do practise wall balls. This will be your last activity before going over the finish line and if you can not make depth or for some really don't know what you are doing, all that hard work will go to waist. For this go the other way around and do a long run then hit the wall balls. Feel what it is like and get someone to check your movement. It is often better to hit 3 then 6 reps to get your nerves system to except the change in movement. If you are at the top then sets of 50 or even unbroken have been seen but you only from the likes of Hunter who have done a number of races.

if you have a small to medium sized car and about 100 meters of semi flat ground that works great for the sled push, just remember to put it in neutral

Whats the difference between Hyrox and Crossfit? When I'm watching the videos, even your own video at the begin it was very crossfit.
@HunterMcIntyre2 жыл бұрын
HYROX is 8 stations of ski-erg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jump, row, farmer carry, SB lunge and wall ball. It is a competition but their motto is fitness for everybody. so some of the crossfit exercises for competition require a level of experience to be able to perform and compete at a high level. Knowing how to do an olympic style lift. This might deter or make someone not be able to compete at that cross fit event. HYROX was set up for the stations to be able to try and incorporate anyone that wants to try, can. Regardless if they know how to do a technical level of exercise.

Any tips on day of/before? Like what to eat, what to wear (shoes, type of shirt, sweat bands), pacing for this hour long event (not going out too quick), handling the mental part (not wanting to quit, handling that feeling of “oh man; I’m only done with 2 parts of this and still have 6 more to go”)? I think you do yours without stopping for water, is that something you suggest for peeps who want to hammer out their best time? When should I stop working out days leading up to this comp?

Anyone know the run times for this? I feel like this could be triathlon 10 years ago where it was dominated by big guys but now it’s dominated by endurance athletes. 8 km is enough to drop someone by a few minutes easy.

Hyrox is pretty much a crossfit event. Why did u stop trying to compete in crossfit?!? This was your year to prove u deserved to be there!
@Brimfulofbeauty3 жыл бұрын
Not really. It’s hugely cardio based.
@BuiltonGODSrock3 жыл бұрын
@@Brimfulofbeauty crossfit at its core is metabolic conditioning. Every year at the cfg they have “purely cardio” events. Believe me I understand both sports and imo crossfit finds the fittest athlete. Hyrox just shows whos good at one type of event!
@Brimfulofbeauty3 жыл бұрын
@@BuiltonGODSrock They never do as much running as in a hyrox though. Half the cf athletes would die a fast death lol. I also believe cfg finds the fittest overall. Spartan is the one that winds me up. You can’t be classed as fittest on earth if you can’t deadlift.
@BuiltonGODSrock3 жыл бұрын
