So much great information in here - thank you. Im in the “my lower back is too weak/sore for deadlift” camp, so (a) loved the way you called people out on that and then (b) showed us ways to ease into it. Great stuff. Thanks.

I was looking for good Hyrox training videos and I can't believe I landed on this video and channel. This is by far the best and the most exhaustive vids I've found. I'm at least a year away from trying Hyrox but this gives me a great list to note down and add to my training plan.

Great video, thanks for posting. Some really excellent suggestions! Personally I’d steer clear of barbell snatch / clean without coaching.

The snatch and cleans certainly need some practice for sure.

could you swap the deadlift to a trap bar deadlift? Great video thanks!
@stevencollinstraining5 ай бұрын
Sure can, it's a great substitution for anyone who struggles with lower back stress/pain however, it will load those quadriceps more, so if you are doing a trap bar instead - make sure the remaining workout and weekly program targets the posterior chain too; good mornings, hip/glute bridges, back extensions, etc...This will help keep your lower body workouts balanced and help strengthen the lower back

good video. using the tricep with the skierg is pointless though, the power comes from your body weight at the top of the stroke
@stevencollinstraining6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. The triceps aren’t the primary muscle that will pull the skierg but they are a still a big contributor so your leaving money on the table not focusing on them especially via shoulder extension

Same same but different, these small differences do not matter much when strength training. We are focusing on strength, power and endurance transfer

Why not just practice doing the actual exercises or are these in addition to that? My gym has a sled, a skierg, sand bags, etc. I can do it all at my gym.
@stevencollinstraining3 ай бұрын
In addition to the main exercises. Generally, to improve each exercise it will mean having to either develop overall absolute and relative strength, strength endurance and technique, training just the actual exercises is not going to help develop all of these qualities.
@theohamilton14363 ай бұрын
@stevencollinstraining Do you have any suggestions on how to structure your training program?
