I have enjoyed Sayer and his wonderful pet parent and her soothing voice. Have watched from his first day home and happy to see recent developments. I have several Standard Poodles so I love watching this little Cavapoo breed and Sawyers comments regarding his thoughts!

That's a great way to train a Cav. I did almost the same thing. Nibbles' fur looks like Sawyer's fur with different colors. I'm thinking more King Charles than Poodle. I liked the bit when u showed bringing in the stick. EVERY time Nibbs goes outside he wants to bring something back inside :)
@sawyerswonderfullife70493 жыл бұрын
He tried bringing in sticks and leaves all the time! Now he’s bringing in mud and snow 🙄 …I liked the leaves and sticks better!! Winter and his hairy little paws are a job!!

Thank you for making and editing this video.. I have the exact same dog literally identical colors and size. I have always wondered if she has any Poodle in her. I guess she does. Your tips and tricks helped a bunch thanks again...

I’m so glad!! Thank you! ♥️ And yes, we get a lot of comments not believing Sawyer is 1/2 poodle…but the flat coat cavapoos are out there! 😂

I wouldn't believe it but I've seen her brothers and they look very Cavapoo ish. I'm amazed of how strong the genes are in Cavaliers. The stick Factor is level 10 and she loves carrying things around in her mouth. Super cute dog so glad we have her.

@@stimymchimy Sawyer’s siblings were all very “shaggy”, not super curly, but def not like his Cavalier-ish coat! Hope you enjoy many happy times with your pup!! 🐾

I watched a lot of videos but the video you have on Sawyer is awesome I want to train my puppy Rosie the same way Rosie is now 10 weeks today is it too early to train her we have a bell on our back door and we’re trying to train her to hit it to when she wants to go outside and it seems to be working what I’ve been doing is putting the treat up to the bell and with her nose first to let me know if she wants to go outside is that a good way to do it.

When I take Toby out he gets so excited and runs away from me, this is when I’m having trouble getting him to come, he does fine inside but outside not so much,
@sawyerswonderfullife70492 жыл бұрын
Practice in an enclosed area like a backyard until he is 100% reliable, never get in the habit of calling more than once without him responding to you, which creates the feeling in him that it’s ok to ignore you sometimes, or only come when HE feels like it! With a lot of practice, consistency, and the best treats, you guys got this! 😃🐾
@michelegreen89172 жыл бұрын
So call once and praise treat when he comes? If he doesn’t come what do I do? I am guilty of calling several times When I give him a treat he wants to take it some where else to eat it I appreciate your videos and help
@sawyerswonderfullife70492 жыл бұрын
@@michelegreen8917 you may need to make sure he’s respecting you in other ways first; waiting calmly for food, acknowledging you whenever you call his name, not begging for anything, listening when told to get off furniture, etc…it sounds like he’s just high energy excited, but doesn’t understand yet that you are in charge, and he needs to focus on you! When you work these things out with him, I think you’ll find him eager to take direction from you, and the relationship will only get better! Remember dogs have a need for a pack hierarchy, so you are only helping him by setting boundaries! Good luck! 😊🐾

What if he doesn’t come?
@sawyerswonderfullife70492 жыл бұрын
Start in the house: 100% must come to you every time. Then move to the backyard or an enclosed area, use steak/chicken for treats, only call once (he cannot ignore you, and you don’t plead multiple times), spend lots of time on this until he is super reliable, you can do this! 😃🐾
