Valka sums it up pretty well with, "Good dragons under the control of bad people". Oh and at 33:40, Drago basically lets Hiccup try and save Toothless because he's arrogant/confident enough that he just WON'T be able to.

@flatstheflounder2884
@flatstheflounder2884 10 ай бұрын
Right, he was overconfident that the Alpha's hold on Toothless would be strong enough that Hiccup wouldn't be able to break it. I love Drago's "how are you doing that?" during this moment, as he couldn't possibly understand how a person's bond with a dragon could be so strong, and it's almost like it was a bit of a wake-up call before he refuses to admit it and immediately goes back to his ways. He was planned to have this absolutely beautiful redemption arc in the third movie that was cut on time restraints, so I genuinely feel like this is the moment that he'd do the most reflection on.

13:06 For clarity and sanity's sake, breastplate covers the entite chest and back, as well as under the arms. They usually come in a front/back split in two pieces, but some from specific regions or craft are single pieces that are worn like a vest. The viking version consists of several metal plates over a leather tunic that segment together either as large plates or scales. This was uncommom as its bulky

Drago's "bad dragon" he rides acts like that and listens to him because he raised him from an egg. He ended up raising and training the dragon through fear with the staff that he holds throughout the movie. You can actually see a slight hesitation in his dragon's actions when Draco drops the staff at 31:26-31:37 and how he doesn't react immediately. Drago's dragon finally stopped listening to him once Toothless became the new Alpha of all of the dragons. Also the dragons turn "bad" through the Alpha's mind control, that is very specific to the Bewilderbeast dragons or the other Alpha in control. I would also recommend watching the third movie as well. The attention to detail is even more crazy then in the second one. Thank you for reading and I hope you all have a good day!

The thing I love most about the story of movie 1 and 2, is the character development of Stoic and Hiccup. In a way they very much mirrored eachother; Stoic in the first movie wouldn't listen to Hiccup, which nearly cost him Hiccup, as his wish for killing the dragons put Hiccup in a life threatening situation, meanwhile Hiccup needed to do something drastic to prove himself and get his father to listen to him. In the second movie, Hiccup isn't listening to his father's warning of Draco, and gets himself put in an even more dangerous situation. So his father, because of the person he is and of his fear of losing Hiccup due to his mistake from the first movie, looses his life. Which Hiccup now has to live with and grow from. I think its an amazing parallel.

also interesting fact drago can control his alpha because he trained it from when it was a small baby using pain its the same way they used to train elephants the animal is smart enough to understand that if it sees the bullhook (the hook he waves around while shouting) and hears drago scream he better obey or there could be pain but the animal isn't smart enough to reassess the situation and that it is bigger then drago or the trainer so it simply just remembers i do as I'm told or hell use the hook to cause me great pain like when i was very small. also i love the little details in this movie like how we see papa hiccup and drago fighting mirroring the alphas fighting and it also explains why mamma hiccup liked the alpha so much it was essentially a dragon version of her husband (a strong leader who protects his own, with the shape of a big beard). also that the alpha loses his horn arm mirroing that drago lost his left arm (same as how hiccup lost his leg on the same side as toothlesses tail fin)

@@Nathalie_Loves_HanJisung_03 you sincerely asking this, really? It burns multiple established themes of the first two movies, erases a lot of character development... The forced ending introduces a lot of plot holes, world building is virtually non-existent in the third movie (we are expected to accept the illogical and unrealistic nonsence as is, without explanation, without reason, without questions while forgetting the first two movies and their ideas). This is to say very briefly.

Sad fact: the weapon drago has is known as a bullhook. It’s a traditional weapon made to “train” elephants by torturing them into submission. Beating the side of the baby elephants head and pulling on their tusks with the hook. So that when the baby grows up they’re too afraid to fight back even tho they’re many times larger than their abuser

Like they have said in the first movie they are exactly like bees. If you have a bad tempered queen in a beehive the bees are going to be bad tempered. If the queen is nice they Will be nice. 😢 I loved this movie.

I got an issue about the mother character, because the first movie message really is "be what you want to be, even if you're diffrent from your family or friends, you gonna find a way" And with the mother comeback who got exactly the same hability as Hiccup, it's like "Oh, you know all your talents ? yep, it's just genetic, that's not you" I'm exagerating, but hey, I think that's pretty sad, it really nukes the first one's meaning... Actually, even with that I like the second one, I just think it's way too fast, the characters don't really have time for evolve. With just a little more time, I'm sure it could be absolutely awesome ^^

You do know that the book and the movies are very different. I would say that the books are used for inspiration in the series, while in the movies only the characters and the dragons are used as inspo. The 2nd and 3rd movie storylines were literally created by the writers at DreamWorks, they even showed the scripts to the author before they went ahead with the animation.
@lavahawke46
@lavahawke46 4 ай бұрын
@@krishnaparasar3568 You should read the books. The way I see it is that each movie followed the story of each Hiccup. The one who gets Toothless is actually Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. The first two movies are loosely based off the stories of Hiccup the first and Hiccup the second. So while they are very different indeed, they movie writers did not make those stories up themselves and just based them on the characters.

The animation in these movies is absolutely incredible. Each one introduced totally revolutionary techniques that have become industry standard, but were revolutionary at the time: the fire in particular was INSANELY advanced, but also things they did to Toothless's rig to make him move the way they do, things like the physics simulations for sand/dirt/snow, and various lighting and atmospheric techniques to make the flight scenes look as good as they do were all absolutely jaw-dropping. They're still incredibly impressive today, but when they came out? Nobody had even IMAGINED 3-d animated movies pulling off some of the things the HTTYD trilogy does.
