One thing to note, if you want to do a direct transfer from iPhone to iPhone like he did in the video, make sure that both phones are on the same software version, otherwise it won't give you the option to transfer directly.

Arron, would be good to mention that some banking apps you have to remove your credentials on your old phone before deleting or transferring it to the new one. Otherwise you may find yourself having to phone your bank to get online banking working again. Great videos as usual👍🏻

Issue I ran into is that the 12 they sent me did not have the latest version of IOS. I had to switch the SIM right away and then begin the setup. That's the only way it will update the app so that you can transfer data wirelessly.

Upgraded from a 6s to a Pro Max 12. Since I had just backed up the 6s with Itunes I thought I would try to do the transfer with Itunes. My logic was that it would be faster. Big mistake on my part! After stubbornly trying the wrong way for hours I used the method in this video and had it completed in about 45 minutes. It took longer to do the software upgrade than the actual transfer. FYI Itunes would start the restore then disconnect the new phone repeatedly. Thanks so much for this video. Very well done!

From what I understand, when you "migrate" you data from your old iphone to your new iphone via the cable or wireless that that type of transfer is the most complete transfer of your settings and data compared to itunes backup or icloud backup and restore.

I’m doing this for someone next week so I have to update the iPhone 12 Pro Max first because she’s already on iOS 18 on the other phone an iPhone SE in this case then back up the iPhone 12 Pro Max to save its data before resetting it then move the SIM card over to the new phone they’re the same service provider so it should work and then follow the instructions in this video to transfer all the data using Quick Start

Your iPhone is synced with iCloud including photos and videos (If you have this option enabled), Every time you delete them, They will delete from iCloud.. So will also disappear across other devices connected to your account. This won't happen if you perform a reset/erase everything, All files will still be on your iCloud. but if you were to delete any by accident, Your files go to the recently deleted box for 30 days before they are permanently deleted (You can also delete the recently deleted files manually if you are sure)

Thank you so much! I'm old school and so I was trying to do the transfer by backing up to my iTunes. Well, my old 2009 MBP can't see the iPhone 12 in iTunes, even though it connects and syncs my iPhone 11 Pro no problem. Then I tried to do it via iCloud, but for some reason a lot of my music didn't transfer over. Then I tried to back up my iPhone 11 Pro to my Windows machine, which took forever (kept getting an error saying my phone was disconnected when it wasn't). Eventually got it to backup onto the iPhone 12 but none of my playlists were copying over. Your method seemed to have done the trick!
