Hey coach, i started doing power cleans for a week, and my volleyball spiking technique went down hill, so i stopped and now im getting it back really fast, but cant do any pulling from floor movement cuz my spiking technique breaks, any suggestions on exercise replacement for p.cleans without using arms(pull from floor)? (My technique on the power clean is good)

I’ve done this before, but never consistently or with the the same intent. It seems like it would be worth trying after I’m done the program I’m currently running. I do it with weighted chin-ups but I always go back to body weight right after, no matter how heavy I go. Or if I’m aiming for something like four reps and I only get one or two then I back off a bit and pull four fast hard reps just like you did in the video. Then I go back and do the same thing for the rest of my sets. I’d like to try and do this intentionally though not just intuitively. It looks awesome.

Pretty basic: slowly clean bulk. You want to be as strong as possible for your weight class. Don't dirty bulk & ruin your relative weight. Muscle moves weight. Fat, not so much.

Would you say this is similar to contrast sets? I've found contrast sets helpful for improving the likes of max in broken pull ups. Hit one rep of a pull up/chin up with 10-20 kg then rest pause for a period and drop the extra weight, usually helped me crank out a good few more reps then I normally would have been able

I often warm up and pyramid up in weight towards a 1rm. Then i'll lower the weight to a working set. it moves so much better. Call it Post-activation potentiation or getting you nervous system ready. The RPE is so much lower if you lifted heavier before. I have incorporated doing a safe but very heavy lift, like a trapbar deadlift, in between sets on the squat, too. If you keep the overall volume in check it seems worth it. Even if it was not beneficial, it feels so much better.

So for OLY lifts i shall proceed in touch and go method or i can re-establish my starting position each time? Id like to give it a try im stuck at 80kg snatch.
@idkimfrmpl2 жыл бұрын
You shouldn’t do touch and go. Olympic weightlifting is a really technical sport and it’s always better to take your time (of course not too long but a couple seconds). If you do it too fast you can lose the proper technique and your muscles will remember this bad form.
@ukaszbartodziejski36622 жыл бұрын
@@idkimfrmpl and I couldnt agree more but I was thinking, maybe in this particular methodology its used as a volume building and not a technical polishing kind of thing? Like im super focus on this heavy single and then i grind through those light ones. But as said I agree with u thanks ! :)

I don’t remember the exact science, but I remember seeing years ago that trying to train endurance and strength in the same workout will take away from one or both of those goals. The strength side is obvious because you’ll have less gas in the tank, but even on the endurance side your body is trying to promote two different pathways of adaptation. One is going to take away from the other.

@lockupuredaughters2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Think about it. Put enough weight on either side of the bar and it would literally bend in half... so if you dead enough weight it feels like the bar could fold. In reality, the weight need3d to bend a bar is much more than any human can lift. Buff dudes did a video on this.
