To remember tone keys (for English speakers): "S" = standing (rising) "F" = falling "R" = rolling "X" = changing (the wavy tone) "J" = small "j" has a dot on it for the "dot" tone

Các bạn ơi when I first was shown how to type in vietnamese by my friend Hiếu in Hà Nội, I was like what the hell I'm never gonna learn this. Fast forward a year and a half later and typing in Vietnamese is second nature to me. Các bạn cứ luyện tập đi , nó càng ngày càng trở nên dễ hơn 🌞

Một thứ nữa là nếu đánh dấu nhầm, thì có thể đánh chữ “Z” để bỏ dấu. If you accidentally add a tone to a no-tone word, you can hit “Z” to remove it!

Also typing with one's voice (using the speech recognition technologies) is a cool way to practice Vietnamese pronunciation. I often have to say a phrase five times before I get what I need on the smartphone screen :))

My android has, in the settings, a vietnamese keyboard with all the letters and tones as separate keys. You just toggle between languages sliding over the space key.

Windows 10 has Telex and VNI included when choosing a vietnamese keyboard, no need for Unikey. But it forces a US keyboard layout, which is maybe inconvenient for Germans or French.

Really? I just tried (with the vietnamese keyboard layout activated) and it did not work - that is why I use Unikey. Unikey also works with the German keyboard layout (e.g. you can type ä, ö, ü and â, ê, ơ at the same time). How does the Windows 10 support have to be enabled - besides chosing the keyboard layout?

The main reason why I hate UniKey - it messes all other things that I have and all other my habits (in Russia people usually have two layouts: for typing Cyrillic letters and for typing Latin ones, UniKey adds more layouts, so the usual Shift + Ctrl no longer works as expected, etc.).

Lúc đầu tôi coi gõ tiếng Việt cực kỳ khó....một thời gian sau chuyện đó trở nên tự nhiên rồi! Các bạn chỉ cần rèn kỹ năng thì gõ tiếng Việt thuộc lòng thôi!

Telex is the super easy and fast way of typing Vietnamese, I use it a lot. But swipe-typing on the Vietnamese Android keyboard is even faster and helps to remember the right collocations and tones :)) The only problem about Android is that I have six keyboard layouts there (Russian and Ossetic in Cyrillic letters, Turkish, Vietnamese, English and Esperanto in Latin). My Windows laptop has a touchscreen, but Microsoft is not in a hurry to implement swipe typing on Windows computers, it'd help me much, since I don't like the UniKey program and have to type in places where browser supports Telex (like Google Translate or Vietnamese Wikipedia).

Nice as always, but I hope you guys can make a video about the words shortened forms used when chatting or commenting (e.g. "dc" for được), not always easy to guess for a foreigner 😅 Thanks for all your cool and helpful videos! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

There are exactly 2 ways to type Vietnamese with Unikey or Windows10 language keyboard Telex (with S R J F X Z, uW oW and doubling [aa ee oo]), it's a little bit hard to remember but just like learning game controlling but a little bit more complex, but once when you are getting used to it, it will be so easy for you to "speedin like Sonic the Hedgehog"" with your keyboard in Vietnamese :))))) VNI: using numbers (u o 7, a e i/1 2 3 4 5 6 8 9), easier for you to remember but it's kinda inconvenient to use and very hard to speedin

Hello em ! I want to write in KZbin in Vietnamese but I don't know how to write with adding tone to the English letters. I want to know do I have to download software Unikey in order to write in KZbin in Vietnamese ? Thanks
@Tiengvietoi8 ай бұрын
If you use your laptop or computer, you need to install Unikey. If you use your phone, in "Setting" section for Languages on your phone, you just need to add Vietnamese keyboard.
