I noticed that you did not pour hot water down the drain after you poured the drano max gel. did you pour hot water after pouring the drano max gel?

didnt you know that many times when your drain is plugged, a plumber will have to get up on the roof and put a snake down the vent pipe because it is like a suction pipe that allows air to go up out of the drains thus allowing the open air pipes to drane but is it is clogged up by leaves etc, the drains below cant drain.

Wow, I literally said that to my husband! Our washing machine is backing up at the drain pipe 'soap and water', but not every load though? We bought a power snake at Harbor Freight and my husband did all of the drain's in the house. It didn't help and I said, 'you know, our vent which ties into the septic system and all, could be blocked as it is open at the top and anything can get down in it! Well, we have a plumber coming Monday and I'm going to say the same thing to him. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of that being a very possible problem!!

In fact, I'm ordering screens on Amazon to cover the vent as well as our heating systems vent that is wide open to bee's or anything else getting in???

🙏 This worked!! I’ve had a clogged washing machine drain, as well as other drains, on and off for YEARS and I took the snake up to the roof and just like that 🪄✨💫 Cleared the drains.

@@katestenson4780 Hmmmm,I am going to try that.Before running a snake down vent pipe,I may run a garden hose down the vent pipe first.Thoughts?

Thanks you for sharing this product (what is inside this product ?) i tried a similar problem with a "water vacuum cleaner" (it was in a bathroom, in a hidden part after the last acces i get) to get the stub out (but caution, it must be done without too much "under pressure" first)

Some newer Wash Machines have a Higher Pump Discharge overpowering the drain. IF after verifying drain pipe AND vent are clean and not blocked --- STOP wash machine discharge overflow with the use of a rubber Adapter and Siphon Break -- 1. Adapter, Standpipe - 36878 -- Rubber adapter will slide down into a standard size 2 in OR smaller standpipe which will block most overflow after hose assembly connection is inserted. Note cost of similar item varies drastically. Adapter does have a small opening to allow some venting which may need blocking with a touch of glue etc. 2. Siphon Break -- 285320 -- Each end is 1-1/16 OD for 1 in ID insert hose connection. Install one end to wash machine discharge hose (With clamp and hose adapter if needed) with the vent end in the vertical position. Connect other end from Siphon Break with 1 in ID hose or PVC braided nylon tubing and extend down into rubber adapter on standpipe. Use of a PVC 90 degree insert elbow (Having 1 in Dia "Insert ends") between Siphon Break and standpipe results in a better installation. A 15 dollar Break is the same as a 40 dollar one. I would not use the Adapter to block discharge without also using a Siphon Break. Discharge pressure will seal off the Siphon Break vent. When discharge is complete the vent will allow the standpipe to empty out down to the trap.

My washing machine drain and my ac condensation drain are connected so when the washing machine drain starts to over flow it also comes up through my a.c. drain, flooding the inside of my house.

@@bretearwood7027 You can stop the overflow from the washing machine as outlined above. Of course that will NOT help but probably cause more water discharge from your AC condensate drain line. The question is, has water always backed up and overflowed from the AC line? Either your AC line is connected very close to the Wash machine discharge or you have a sever blockage somewhere down stream. "IF" you have any cast iron drain pipe it would be a very good bet that would be your major problem. I once had only about 6 ft of cast iron pipe left -- not replaced with PVC -- and just one cast iron fitting was blocked almost 90%. Final replacement was the answer.

@@williamcahoon1438 yes the ac drain is within 6 feet of the washing machine drain. It only recently started. I think this house was built in the early 80s. Not sure where they stood with the piping when this house was built.

@@bretearwood7027 Cast iron drain pipe was still being installed in the early 72's -- at least. I have no idea when PVC / ABS pretty much replaced cast iron. Of course it would depend on location. If you can determine you DO have cast iron drain pipe it would be a very good bet that is your main problem. IF possible look in your craw space if you have one. If your wash machine / AC drain overflow problem was not always a problem than you apparently have a blockage in the drain OR vent pipe OR if you have a septic system with a complete backup. If possible relocation of the AC drain connection should be considered.

Thank you so much for this!! I went to store and got a bottle of this as well as a bladder in case drano didnt work. Drano did work but not all the way. But what confused me is that on regular drano or liquid plumber the instructions always say to run water into drain before putting in product. This drano did not say to do this so the first time I didnt. But the 2nd time I did and that did the trick. So very glad it worked because I didnt want to go to the trouble of doing the bladder. Thanks again for letting us know about this more powerful drano!

what is "bladder"? is that a typo? did you run hot water before putting in the product?

Autumn, yes I ran hot water the 2nd time. Bladder is not a typo--its something to use to flush out a pipe. Even plumbers use them. In KZbin, search Using Bladder for pipes and stuff should come up. Good luck! Having plumbing problems is a pain in ass

Can I ask why you didn’t just pour the drano in the washing machine drain? I’ve done the snake and the Stanley vacuum suction on the pipe itself. Nothing works. Is there any reason I couldn’t pour it in the drain for the washing machine??

@@CreativeProcessDIY You might have a root problem, so Drano or Liquid Plummer wouldn't be strong enough. Zep Root Kill gets good reviews for killing roots and destroying the roots. Almost $15 a bottle (2 lbs) at Lowe's. There aren't any specific directions for unclogging the washer drain pipe. *The crystals are very corrosive and dangerous, so keep it out of your eyes, and off you skin. And wash hands afterwards.*

I could but the drain line is also connected to the kitchen sink drain. So I had to pour the product in multiple locations....

we have the same exact washer , it doesn't;t have any filter built in so it clogged ours too. most washer come with filter to catch lints and papers. do you happen to know if there was any filter ?

Most clogs in washer drain lines are caused by fabric softner build up.

You need to get a good high quality acid based drain cleaner, it will dissolve the solids and open the drain up

i know its been close to 4 years that you posted this, but my prob was exactly the same as yours what i mean is it's the same down to the to every last detail > washing machine drain exct and the snake thang, it was like DeJa'Vu lol i followed your procedure and it worked like a charm!! liked the shop vac hose used to pour in the Drano Gel let it set for 12 hrs.' Voila Drain works like new!! thx for the video it saved me a lot of work really hate using the snake lol note: this previously happened about 5 years ago thx again!! 👍

I might have roots in my washer drain pipe, so I used some Zep Root Kill (2lbs- crystals), about half the bottle, and then I poured about a 3/4 gallon of hot water down the drain. I will let it sit for 2 days before I do it again. I've seen no instructions for a washer drain pipe, so I made up my own instructions. I figure too, if it can destroy roots, then it should certainly destroy lint and hair in the drain pipe. From what I've read, I should expect positive results in 2-4 weeks.

It may not be the draino. The clog may have just cleared on its own. They do that sometimes

good job, my local $49 clear any drain "plumber" only tried the external clean-out then immediately offered the $1175 camera insp (yeah right) - I said bye-felicia, i will try this before i call another plumber
