The Lucia night vigil, lussevaka, in Swedish is a preparatory holiday, day and night, on the 12th of December, before Lucia on December the 13th the great Swedish holiday held in memory of Saint Lucia (Lucy). This video will describe this preparatory period & some of its traditions, including the role of the baking of the Swedish pastry lussekatter, that are practiced, or at the least used to, as this tradition is pretty much confined to more conservative & traditionalist Swedish circles. I hope you will find this piece of Swedish Christian culture interesting.

@@beepboop204 Heh, almost! Tasting history is also btw a very good channel (if it was the channel you referred to), but I actually might make some videos about food history and Swedish foodstuff because there are some interesting stuff here that you could talk about regarding the context for why people ate what they ate.

It is an interesting tradition that was retained in Sweden despite the conversion to Protestantism, and I guess that Latvia still have a lot of Catholics, or did they convert also to Protestantism like in Estonia? I would also like to know how it differs as I find these things very interesting, so please do tell!
